Dr Deshaw in my opinion is a very evil person. He was treating my Lyme and bartonella for a king time. I liked him though he wasn’t good at looking over blood work and I had to always go over it myself to check if he neglected to notice things.

That didn’t bother me, what did is one day the nurse or whatever job description she had, I’m nit sure..she was trying to get my blood and had trouble and went to throw out the needle and other things.tube I guess..she threw it out using her hand to open the garbage can and then came to do my blood with a new needle..at no time washing her hands in between opening the garbage ( which didn’t have or she didn’t use a foot opener with.

I asked her to wash her hands or put fresh gloves on and she sachsyed out of the room and was obviously realkt mad.

Dr Deshaw the next day sent me my file and told me never to return to his office.

Let’s just say I don’t wish him well. When he watches a loved one suffer some illness I wonder if he even thinks it could be because of karma.

An absolutely horrible man in my humble opinion, perhaps the woman lied or made up a story .I dint know but all I did was ask her to wash her hands after being in the garbage can and for that this “Dr” fired me instead of her.

It’s been several years but as I got sick again without antibiotics it made me remember how disgusting a deed he engaged in when all I did was expect a clean hand from the woman drawing blood and instead got a vey very sick response to asking for something anyone should have not had to been asked to do.

I'm blessed to be somebody who holds the key to many options for care. I thank God that I was directed towards Dr. DeShaw. Sure, at times the appointments run a bit late but that's because he gives everybody his undivided attention. I have lyme and other coninfections. He found and is treating what other doctors missed. He understands lyme like no other doctor does and is comfortable mixing allopathic medicine with eastern medicine options. If you are fortunate enough to get an appointment with him, you won't be disappointed. His knowlege base is remarkable!

Let's be frank...if you need an Infectious Disease (ID) doctor, you want the best care possible. With Dr. DeShaw that is what you get. If I was in the hospital or had an emergency, I would hope he would make room for me. I've seen Dr. DeShaw for quite some time and he continues to monitor my Lyme and Babesia issues. He saved my life! I can't put a price tag on that! If I have to wait a total of an hour to see him, so be it. I know that means he helped people with emergency needs that day. He treats many serious diseases and I feel fortunate with what I was dealt...others aren't so fortunate. Patience is a virtue. This is not a PCP facility. Dr. DeShaw takes the time to review lab work before he enters the room, then he listens to symptoms and concerns and then decides on the best course of action based on his 27 years of treating people. These diseases are tricky and there is no one way to treat everyone. Johanna was recently promoted to Office Manager and has made a big difference in the flow of the office. Feel blessed if you are able to obtain Dr. DeShaw!

Dr. Deshaw is perhaps the only doctor that we've visited who took the time to preread the medical history and have valid questions to ask my wife who has had lymes disease to perhaps as many as 15 years. The first 5 to 7 years undiagnosed by other physicain and a quantity of others followed that were no where near as helpful as Dr. Deshaw. We found him to be accuate in his assement, and his treatment has been fruitful. The staff is friendly and very helpful as well. If you want good sometimes you have to be patient. Although we've waited in the waiting room, the time and personal attention is always there.

Worst staff! Incredible long waits over an hour normally, and a dr. that is not quite on the ball. He dispenses medicine liberally which is great for lyme patients but does not look at bloodwork, or have any interest in peoples time or concern for the long waits or poor staff behavior. My husband and I have decided enough is enough and are taking our daughter elsewhere.

Dr Deshaw has not given up on my Lyme treatment, he works with me as a partner in this health journey and not only answers my questions but is open to my suggestions. He always has another approach if the things we have tried aren't working. He staff knows when I arrive , call with appt reminders, and get my refills processed and appts made quickly. When blood work is done, it is usually discussed at the following appt unless the results indicate an immediate need to change a regimen. I have received a proactive call at home from Dr Deshaw when my blood culture came back positive. He also offered me this definitive blood test which no other doctor had suggested and which confirmed without a doubt that the bacteria were still in my system. Dr. deshaw also called my husband proactively at home when he had an infection after his leg surgery. He is personable as well as knowledgeable, but humble enough to admit the limits of his knowledge and to refer to other experts when appropriate. Wait time are sometimes long, but keep in mind that he deals with many different types of patients who have diverse needs and may have just come out of the hospital. He deals with hospital emergency infections which require appts in his schedule even when it may be full. How can you predict how many infected surgeries are going to show up that month? Or how complicated a patient's health will be that visit. So just like many doctors, sometimes staying on time is out of his control,

I've been a patient of Dr. DeShaw's for about a year and a half now. It's usually a little bit of a wait to be seen once you're in the office but the earlier in the day you go, the less time you wait. If you want to speak to someone on the phone and get results, Felicia, his assistant is the one you want to talk to. She had him contact me directly, and promptly when front desk staff failed to help me out. I had been sick with lyme and rocky mountain spotted fever when I went to Dr. DeShaw. I ended up having to do IV therapy for almost 2 months but he worked around my cephalosporin allergy and was as excited to see me get better as I was to be feeling better. He always spent enough time to answer all of my questions and he always remained positive that I could be healthy again.
