My husband was in a skilled nursing facility. My husband was to receive further rehabilitation. As a result of outdated thinking by WD Taylor, if I had not been there fighting for my husband he would never have received any rehab. WD Taylor seems to think if anyone has had a stroke in the past then there is little progress which can be made by the stroke survivor. Taylor would get no further away than 6" to talk in a very loud voice to my husband. My husband had no problem with hearing. Apparently this doctor, even though he is supposedly a geriatrician did not know the difference between aphasia (difficulty with receptive and expressive communication) and the ability to hear. Any question asked he took it as a challenge to his authority. This doctor only goes to skilled nursing facilities aka nursing homes. You do not know what time he will be there,so you have to leave any questions with "nurses" and hope they show him your questions and write down the answers to your questions.staff?
