He helped me come off of a lot of my medications that another RA dr had me on.
He retired in 2017 and now I see Mirna Barakat. I highly recommend her.

I took my son who was a complex pediatric case trying to transition to adult care. Dr Taba was very nice, but he isn't the doctor for kids coming from Dr. Elder at Shands, Gainesville. At first he just listened to what Dr. Elder did with no change or input. She had expected the adult doctor to take part. Then he sat us down and told us he was the wrong doctor for my son, because he doesn't have hospital privileges, and my son had a history of hospitalizations. We talked about transitioning to adult care, and he said he feared we'd have a difficult time. Some doctors would be intimidated and not want such a complex case. He was right, and now we take our son to Dr Charles Galea in Waycross, GA. Dr Taba was very caring, and he could be the right fit for am older adult, but if you're a parent coming from Shands pediatric rheumatology, I'd skip this office.

Dr. Taba is very caring and takes as much time as you need. When I first started going to him my insurance covered my visits. Since he has moved, my insurance does not cover my visits so now I pay out of pocket. This is a truly excellent doctor and I highly recommend him.

Dr. Taba is very caring and helpful. I have had Rheumatoid arthritis all my life, I've seen a lot of rheumatologists, and he's definitely in the top 3 for me. He took his time to listen to me, gave me some cortisone shots to aid in pain levels.

Only went for one visit a few years ago, from reading this there are similar experiences though. I felt like he was in an rush to stamp the fibromyalgia label on me chastise me for not exercising or sleeping enough (without much in the way or helpful improvements for this)... offered pain medication although at the time I declined, I didn't want to simply treat the symptoms before it was ruled out that there was any underlying rheumatic illness (hence the visit). I have been seeing Dr. Olezar in Ponte Vedra beach ever since she she is great- sincere and from the start did what Taba was unable to- double check the labs that sent me there in the first place, and then answer my questions and give real, compassionate, helpful responses that have helped me cope with my illness.

1st visit dx me with Fibromyalgia, which I already knew I had. He gave me anti-inflamatory even though I told him my stomach couldn't tolerate them due to Crohns Disease. 2nd visit treated me like a drug seeker when I asked for something for the pain. Was more concerned for himself and his reputation than his patient. Ranted about being audited about his prescribing narcotics. Didn't care one bit about the pain I was in. Never went back.

Diagnosed me with fibro, not very helpful. If you have fibro and in need of a treatment plan this is not the doctor for you.
