My apologies for the length, but people should know.
Dr. Kearin Connelly (ENT) - He performed major surgery on my throat, removing my uvula, tonsils, adenoids, excess tissue to end my choking (worked) and snoring (no affect). But that’s not what this review is about.
Connelly told me recovery wouldn’t be a problem, i.e. “many patients have surgery on Friday and go back to work on Monday”.
Prior to surgery I explained on the pre-op forms, clearly explained to Connelly, told the anesthesiologist and everyone prepping me that they should be aware of a medication that I was taking. The surgery proceeded.
When I was in recovery, concerned with not being able to get my pulse over 35, Connelly brought my wife into recovery. She told him that I needed a dose of the medication I had mentioned to him and so many others. He ignored her, got other doctors involved, failed to increase my pulse, and told her that the pharmacy refused to give him the medication she and I had clearly made him aware of. Worried and frustrated, my wife went home, returned with the medication, and gave me a dose. My pulse returned to normal within 20 minutes.
Within a day after returning home it became clear that Connelly had under prescribed my pain meds. When my wife called to tell him he refused her request for a better pain killer which left me in a fetal position and unable to even call him myself for a almost a full week.
During my 3 week follow up I asked him to explain his inaction, to which he replied that the subject wasn’t up for discussion.
During my 3 month visit, I explained that I had developed the foreign body sensation in the back of my throat that prior to surgery he said might happen and could be easily fixed. However, his reply was that “it’s like an annoying clock on a wall. Sooner or later you get use to it”.
