DO NOT SEE THIS DOCTOR. AWFUL EXPERIENCE WITH THIS DOCTOR. My father had sinus surgery with this doctor. This is a very sensitive operation in which you flush the sinuses. The surgery lasts about an hour which includes anesthesia. It happens in their own hospital room. About two and a half weeks later, on WEDNESDAY night, at about 9:30PM, he had started to bleed very heavily. At the emergency room of our town hospital, the emergency room called and paged this doctor over and over again. They were trying their best to do everything they can to handle the bleeding. However, Dr. Sherif Hassan never had the courtesy to call back or answer the emergency room. Finally, his partner, Dr. Michael Katz just after 4:30 in the morning. He had called my sister's phone, because my sister was calling as well, but of course my sister was asleep at the time. The emergency room compacted and closed my father's nose by filling the nose with balloons. This put an end to 4 hours of intense bleeding, in which my father was extremely tired, dizzy, and lightheaded. The ENT from the emergency room came out and checked the nose, and had explained to us that he MUST be seen by Dr. Sherif Hassan at his office in Rutherford, or at the hospital in Hackensack in about 48 hours to pull the balloons out from his nose. On Friday night (after the 48 hours), we took my father to Hackensack hospital, and went through the same drama. Dr. Sherif Hassan did not care to see us or speak to us. He made it clear that he would not see us unless we come to his office on MONDAY, which would be a whole 5 days after. He never bothered to care or even speak to his patient, my father. Although my father was left with an extreme nose and throat infection, he did not care at all. This nose and throat infection left him unable to speak, eat, or even have sleep. It was an awful experience. This was Friday. Saturday morning, my mother called an abundance of other doctors, as we needed to take the things out from his nose. However, every single doctor explained to us that they could not help us without going through Dr. Sherif Hassan, and that he would hold every other doctor responsible if done so. We went to Morristown Memorial hospital, and we went through the same exact drama. Today, Monday morning, we went to Dr. Sherif Hassan's office. We were told that he went on vacation for the day, and that we will see his partner, Dr. Michael Katz. We saw his partner, and he began to complain to us that we went to the hospitals. We explained to him that it was urgent that the nose balloons were to be taken out after 48 hours, and it's been a whole 5 days. He did not seem to care, and he decided to name some other doctors that we could see instead of him and his partner. These doctors are not doctors that care for their patients, but they are businessmen that want to milk your insurance money and never see you again. I warn you not to see these doctors for any operation. See them at your own risk.

Worst Experience with any doctor so far on my 2 visits, where I went with snoring/sleep apnea problems. Waited more than an hour both times after having an appointment, consultation was also with doctor checking and then vanishing for 10 minutes etc. Big bill for putting a camera up my nose which took 2 mins, that was later billed as a "surgery", that my insurance didn't cover. Final recommendation was for nose surgery, and only as I had done my homework online on comparison between no surgery and surgery options was I able to get the benefits/sidee-effects of both. The whole thing left a feeling that the doctor is biased towards recommending stuff that would make more money for them in my opinion. Doctor is competent, staff is decent, just horrendous wait times and overall too much greed for me.

Dr.Katz is very knowledgeable in his field. I went for a sinus problem and he explained every aspect of what treatment I should pursue. He prescribed meds and a follow up exam. it worked, there was no need for surgery, per Dr. katz. However, the office manager is horrible, she seems to be money hungry. She demanded that I pay my copay or i would not be seen. If stupidity was given out on the day she was born, she got all of it. Too bad, because she makes the Drs office look bad.

Dr. Katz have been trating my 5 year old since she was 1 year old. she had persistent ear infections and he put tubes for her at age 1.5 and again at age 3.5. Wonderful, caring, gentle, and very assuring. My daughter loves him. I go to see him too if i have issues and i am always very satisfied with his treatment and personal manners.

I took my three year old to see this doctor and he was very rude and condescending. He had not any patience with my child. He yelled at my three year old, then yelled at me for not helping him. He tried to forcefully hold my child down to check his ears and nose. My toddler yelped from his hard grasp when he held down his head. This doctor is lucky I did not file a police report against him.

Recently I went to Dr. Katz with severe impacted wax in the ears. He did a great job with syringe and vacuum techniques to clear this up. Subsequently I had to call his office with a question and was very satisfied with the response. I recommend Dr. Katz in every way.
