Almost 29 years ago now I had my son, I was a teen pregnancy, this idiot got angry at me for being in pain, gaslit me on my dilation, then when my son started crowning, he pushed the head of my baby back inside me because I was vaginally tearing and he decided he wanted to give me an episuotomy. My son's head was bruised for weeks and I always thought, "if my son has brain damage, it's from this a$$hat.
Well he was diagnosed with autism at 16, and I always wanted to track this POS down & tell him what I thought of him. Nobody should be trusting him with their body or newborn!!

I found Dr Umran to be extremely knowledeable and very forthright in his opinions (tells it like it is!). He was very detailed in his examination and very thorough in his explanations to me. I feel very secure with him. He is brusque but kindly and very respectful. A wonderful physician.

Dr. Umran came in my pregancy when I went into labour at 5 months pregnant. Although I lost the baby, he basically saved my life and tried everything to try to save my daughter's life. He came to the hospital at all times including 4am and had to come back just to give me a new IV because the nurses couldn't do them on me anymore. He was very concerned about my emotional well being and my next pregnancy will be managed by him and I am very thankful for that.

I had a terrible experience with this man several years ago....was in hospital for over 3wks when should have been home in 2-3 days..he wanted to send me home with my surgical nightmare not yet corrected...he screwed up but didn't want to admit it... he just wanted me to go away. I refused to leave the hospital until the damage he had done was fixed. He kept myself and my husband in the dark about what was happening. He is barbaric!!! Stay away!!!!

This DR impressed me more than any DR ever has. I read through the comments and as far as bed side manner, he was awesome. He fully explained in detail what was going on, he backed me in having a second ultrasound...just for my own piece of mind. He did the surgery, and after the surgery there were NONE of the side effects there probably should have been. He was VERY professional and attentitive and genuinley caring...I would go back to him 110%, or have him deliver my baby.

Dr. Umran delivered 2 of my children without complications. i found him to be very pleasant and friendly at all my visitis throughout my pregnancies. he does seem to favour an "older" approach to pregnancy: eat well, don't exercise too much, rest a lot. he can seem blunt but that is more do to the fact that he has repeated himself thousands of times over the years and it's hard to keep sugar coating things. what is important is that his knowledge is high and his expertise is huge (1000s of deliveries). His job is not too baby his patients (that job is for the father, relatives and your friends), his job is too to see you safely through your pregnancy and deliver a healthy baby...and he does just that. Port Alberni is very lucky to have had a specialist stay so long in the community.

Knows his stuff, but can be quite rough in exams, doesnt beat around the bush, can be very blunt, sometimes to the point of being insensitive.Tried to push me to get my tubes tied, which I didnt want, told me I needed a C-section,and I ended up delivering my baby naturally,,so I think he does jump ahead to the wrong conclusions at times because he is so sure of himself,I would ask for a second opinion if you dont agree with what he says,he is not always right, but he will try to make you believe he is!!! I have had sucessful surgery with him,I do believe he has alot of knowledge and experience,he's delivered ALOT of babies in this town!

When I went in for my C-Section the nurse went over the papers with me before hand. Umran had put on my operating papers to tie my tubes, I had said no in his office, so they had to do all the paper work all over again. He knows his stuff, bad bed side manner, like to do C-Section and will do one when ever he can ($$$) and like for women to tie their tubes ($$$) He actually told my husband that I was not getting my tubes tied just so he would have to get his done and cause him pain. My husband was not impressed
