I would not recommend this doctor, not happy with my experience, for being an OB he doesn’t know much for a “womans body” . went in for an appointment to open up my cervix to prepare for induction, called that morning and said I’m having contraction and I believe I’m in labour, they said where I have the appointment still come and we will have a look. So I went up and and dr shepherd examined me and turns out I was 3cm, so they decided to keep me.

After a couple hours at the hospital, he came and checked on me again and said I hadnt progressed and that I was in “fake” labour. ( mind you this is my second kid and I was 41+5). I told him, it’s not fake it’s real, and I told him how every doctor I had seen this pregnancy had told me “any sign of labour, even minor, go to hospital because I have a birthing body (based on my first labour) and she will fall out”. He then said if it was real labour your contractions would be closer together and you would be in a lot more pain (contractions were 5mins apart and lasting 2 mins, and I have a really high pain tolerance, found that out with me first child, labour was not painful and no epideral) I then said I am in pain I’m just really good at pain management and I have a high pain tolerance. He then said “I’m discharging you, come back when your contractions are closer together (already 5mins apart and lasting 2min each) and you are sweating in pain”……… so I left because even after telling him I should stay…he told me to go home…..2 hours later she was almost born in my car (water broke in car, and I did all I could to keep her from falling out). Thankfully made it to hospital (any second later and I wouldn’t have) and I didn’t even push, she ejected her self and the nurse technically caught her….. the new doctor on call didn’t even make it to the room.

He definitely should not be telling woman they are not in pain when he has never experienced the pain…..like “come back when you are in more pain and you are sweating from the pain

Dr. Sheppard is a very caring and knowledgeable doctor. I had him for my daughter and he even delivered her. I can not recommend him enough.

Had a bad experience at the St Joes Womens Clinic in my first pregnancy, moved to Dr Sheppard for my second pregnancy. I very much enjoyed his bedside manner, he was kind, knowledgeable and deeply cared about my mental health and how I felt about my course of treatment. He made me feel heard when I had to be induced, unfortunately he finished his shift before I delivered, but he was a pleasure to see, and I felt very safe and comfortable. Their office is always running late, so expect to be there for at least an hour after your appointment time, and do whatever you can not to anger his receptionist! She’s not very nice if she’s in a mood

Dr. Sheppard delivered both of my children 11 years apart by c-section. He is by far the best doctor I’ve been to. So kind and patient.

Dr Sheppard was on duty and delivered my baby. He was kind, gentle, and a brilliant MD. Could not ask for better. If I have another child, I will be picking him as my OB GYN.

I saw Dr Sheppard for 2 pregnancies. After my second, he put the fear of death in me to avoid another.. Years later I saw Dr Andrew’s and Dr Reardon and they disagreed and strongly felt it was perfectly safe to have had another.. but by then I was early 40’s.. Dr Shepard was also very rude when questioning any of his theories.
Maybe it’s certain personality types he does not like..

He is amazing. Took the time to listen to me and explain everything I needed to know. I was seeing him for surgery after a miscarriage and he was very sympathetical and professional.
