Mike has been my doctor for over 30 yrs, I feel at ease around him and trust him. He has a straight forward deminor and doesn't over prescribe meds. I am very heathy and mostly see him for check-ups and sports related injuries, mind you. He is always on time and his staff is wonderful.

My father has been visiting this doctor for several years. I can say with confidence that this doctor is not up to date with medical advice and procedures, is reluctant to refer to specialists (who actually know what they are doing), and this doctor doesn't respond when a patient speaks of being proactive in his/her health and is seeking nutritional and supplemental advice to aid in healing. I agree with the above poster in saying that it is absolutely time for this doctor to retire. If you can, look elsewhere than this doctor.

I've been a patient for almost 20 years. If there was a choice of more docs in Ladner, I'd be gone. This guy talks down to you, doesn't refer, and sometimes gives one the impression that they ought to just "suck it up" when it comes to their pain. I went for a referral once, which Dr. M. didn't like, but hesitantly gave. The Dr. on the other end explained so much better to me what was happening to me. He actually helped me. He said that, in around about way, that Dr. M. didn't diagnosis the problem accurately. I just keep going due to a lack of choice of Dr.s.

He has been my doctor for over 20 years. I used to work ambulance and I know good doctors and bad doctors. I stay with him because he has been great, has made referrals when appropriate and has always given me the time I needed to discuss issues with him.

Horrible doctor. Doesn't know how to diagnose or treat patients properly. Doesn't listen well at all. Very abrupt and cold.

My Doctor left Family Practice 2 years ago and I was referred to Dr. MacLean. Unfortunately it was at the same time that I was diagnosed with an autoimmune disease. Having him as a Doctor, has been a disappointment. I learned after one or two incidences to not expect anything beyond exactly what he was seeing. I reluctantly go to see him whenever I have to and cope by having lower expectations .... get in, get to the point, get out.

He has been our good family doctor for years and I really appreciate he talks about all sides of troubles, without instantly prescribing medication. That's my kind of doctor.

I think it is all about how many patients he can squeeze in a day thus more patients seen, more money for him. He pushes you out that door while you are still talking. He talks down to you. He makes you feel as if he is right and anything you suggest is laughable or could not be a possibility. I am disappointed. This is our lives, it scares me to not believe in my doctor. If something should be wrong and he misdiagnose (he has done that) can we sue?? probably not, we just suffer. Getting paid a lot of money, for a lot of nothing!
