Have been with him for 12 years now and always appreciate his down to business attitude, extensive knowledge and willing to do whatever needs to be done to find an answer if he does not know it iffy getup of his head....he has helped me find non narcotic solutions for the pain from degenerative vertebrae and disk in my neck as well as helping me get through the recovery from an MI... He can often appear clinical and dry in his approach, though do not be confused, he has continually proven he does care about the mental as well as physical issues facing his patients...don't think you could find a more dedicated caring physician!

Dr. Elsey was my mum's physician for many years. We recently lost mum to Cancer. I can't speak highly enough about how present, knowledgeable, supportive, and genuine Dr. Elsey is. I work with physicians in my line of work and have worked in healthcare for 30 years. My mum too worked in healthcare. He stands out above the crowd. He was by her side in hospital and later in Hospice even over Easter. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts Dr. Elsey. You helped my family through a most difficult time. Your staff also - thank you for your support. xo

I feel so lucky to have Dr. Elsey as my doctor. He has been my doc for 30yrs and after the birth of my first child last year I am even more grateful. He was always listened, never took my concerns lightly, but always alleviated them. Following some issues with the pregnancy, he kept in consult with another doctor, even coming to my sunday morning appointment at RVH with the specialist. After delivery the amazing care continued. I had issues with breastfeeding(had a c-section,milk took a while),he was very reassuring, and put me in contact with a lactation nurse(no longer avail. at RVH, it's offsite). He always made me feel like I was doing okay, and during the emotional/physical roller coaster after delivery, he was very informative and able to clearly explain to me what was going on in my body, which made everything seem easier. He was always very thorough throughout my pregnancy and postpartum and this has also been true when it comes to the care of my son. Very happy with his care!

I become elsey's patient when I was pregnant. He gave me a lot of information on the care of my child, and was very thorough with every visit that I have seen him. It is difficult to book an appointment, he is out of the office ALOT! But the nurses are really great, and so is the doctor that fills in for him. The front desk people are often rude, but they do not change my positive opinion of dr. elsey. I feel lucky to have a great doctor, there are so many people that don't gave access to a doctor at all!

he has a god complex, and believes the worst in someone. If he would care like he used to years ago, he would be a great doctor. He also does not know how to do a proper physical.

I feel like he wastes my time and does not care. I have him as a family doctor and end up going to walk-ins 80% of the time because he does not help me or show any signs of helpfulness. I feel as if he has lost passion for his job and I am currently seeking a new family doctor.

This Dr. (in my opinion) suffers from short man syndrome. Helpful and professional nope, he's to busy trying to prove to the world he's not short and bald.

My wife suffered with MS for 30 years and was house bound in a wheel chair and it was next to impossible for her to get out. We had moved to Innisfil from Toronto and she needed a family doctor who would make HOUSE CALLS. I was given Dr. Elsey's name by a third party and he was understanding enough to take her as a patient and did come to our HOME numerous times. His care and help was second to none and when she was hospitalized prior to passing away, he was instrumental in making sure her care was second to none. This is a good doctor folks.

I have tried to give Dr Elsey the benefit of the doubt. I really think he simply does not like me. He has very poor bed side manners, there is no caring, no warmth. He does not always write down what we say, and doesn't listen - so, when we go back, he does not have documentation of previous appointment. He ends up blaming us for, according to him, not referring to the problem before. I have gone there with severe symptoms lasting for more than a month and he did not bother to examine me. I ended up having to go to a walk in clinic just few days later. He does not follow up on serious issues or on lab results. I have seen the ratings here - the good ones - and it sounds like its either his own people posting this stuff, or he is a completely different doctor when he is with me. I wish I could find another Doctor, more competent, more committed, someone who keeps up with new findings and specific severe chronic illnesses.

My family (myself, my husband, my son 21 years and my daughter 26 years) and I have been seeing Dr. Elsey for almost 15 years. We are all so very pleased with his knowledge and he is a great diagnostician. My only complaint lately is that it takes 2 weeks to get in for an appointment. The gals that answer the phones are not very sympathetic to this problem.
