Overall amazing service every time I speak with him or see him. He has kept me alive for several years and and has always been professional, explained things in terms I understand and truly cares for his patients.

Very caring and knowledgeable. Diagnosed me with RLS in 40 minutes, and sleep well with no more cramping.

I find him very distracted, he's all over the place, tends to talk over you and I don't think he takes women in particular very seriously. He seems fake nice if that makes sense. The amount of times he mentions his church is not really professional, I don't feel religion should be part of any neurological consult.

At my FIRST & ONLY appt with Dr Makus, (seeing him for a 2nd opinion, I had concerns w/ left side of my face having no feeling for 2 mths. I cant feel the left side of throat when swallowing, trouble swallowing & speaking. These were all new symptoms that had just came about & my current neuro brushed off) I waited 1.5 hrs past my appt time, I finally get in & we were interrupted TWICE in the first 5/10 mins of my appt. He steps out the 2nd interruption, comes back & asks me if he can administer botox to another patient who's been waiting "a very long time". I was completely thrown off & hesitant to reply..he insisted it would only be 10 mins, I shrugged, replied I guess so. Hes starts asking questions to me about if my migraines started after the sexual assault..while treating the other patient, in another room!! I did not answer. I was horrified & humiliated at the breach of confidentiality, that this stranger knows my information! I was beyond angry at his time saving measures. He comes back in, sits with me asking other questions, then tests my eyes, reflexes and says yup, chronic migraines. He told me to make another appt for 3 mths. I just left, didn't make the appt, so angry I was shaking & crying. I saw my GP next day & told him everything, saying ill never see him again. This was overall the worst appt I've ever had in my life. I put a 1 for knowledge only because I didn't see anything helpful that day. Now 6 mths later I'm being tested for MS because my symptoms have become debilitating...which I feel should have been tested for with my earlier symptoms when I saw him.

I’ve been going to Dr. Makus for many years now for MS. He’s been absolutely wonderful! I had my first attack 38 yrs ago and had seen other neurologists. None can compare to Dr. Makus . He’s thorough, helpful and compassionate. Yes you will have to wait, your appointment not on time but that’s because he spends time with you and doesn’t rush you. I suggest bringing something to read.

He has been my neurologist for 7 years. He is caring and compassionate. He went to great lengths to seek a diagnosis for my very unusual symptoms by this I mean showing the video I was requested to provide. 15 months laster I haven't been referred for any tests except by my GP.
I am at the point of being bedridden and can barely breathe. My blood oxygen saturation levels 84-94 95-99.
Fortunately I have had an appointment with other specialist. I've been referred to the Glenrose Hospital.
You have to advocate for yourself if you know something is wrong with your body. Do your own research on your symptoms, take note of your symptoms and pay attention to your body and document everything.
Dr Makus is an extremely caring doctor. This is what made me stay this long.
But I feel very let down by him. I've been referred to a new neurologist.

Idiot can't tell the difference between a stroke and MS and thinks the Bible is the answer. Run.

Dr Makus has been my neurologist for 5 years. I have never had a doctor more dedicated to his patients. He is knowledgeable, kind and supportive. If there Angel's walking on earth he is definitely one of them. He goes above and beyond his role.
