He doesn't listen to his patients, he doesn't care about his patients. He sends you for useless test when he should be sending you to a specialist. That's what specialists are for when the family doctor doesn't know what the problem is.

The receptionist does listen and is very rude.

Dr. Hoy has been my family physician for 20 years. He unfortunately closed his own practice and moved to a walk-in -clinic. Dr. Hoy is never on time no matter what time of day you go. Mid-day and it's still a 45 minute wait after your scheduled appointment time. Good luck getting in urgently if your a ill or need a prescription refill. He books appointments 10 day to 2 weeks out at the earliest. The clinic is also very dirty and gross. The staff can also be rude. I feel like I am a bother to them when I call for an appointment or ask a question ect... I think Dr. Hoy used to be a good doctor, I don't think he is truly in this profession for patient care anymore and I will be looking for a new doctor.

I have been seeing Doctor Hoy for over 35 years now. I used to live within walking distance but am now about an hours drive away. No worries, good physicians are hard to find and he is certainly one of the best.
His care is great and always follows up to see how things are going. His staff is very good too. If you can get him for a family doctor I would very highly recommend .

Dr. Hoy is a nice and caring doctor. My only complaint is he is so busy that you have to book appointments at least 3 days out, which sometimes is not possible depending on the illness. His receptionist just tells you to see a walk-in. If you are able to see him, he is knowledgable and doesn't make you feel uncomfortable. I am concerned with his patient tracking system to ensure you are receiving the necessary tests every few years (ie. pap etc.).

This WAS my family physician since I was born 30 years ago, until one day I went to make an appointment to find out that he is no longer keeping me as a patient because I hadn’t seen him within 6 months, shouldn’t maintaining health be a positive thing? So after 30 years of having one physician, I am forced to look for a new one. In all honesty I’m not even sure this is Dr. Hoy himself or if this is the lack of reception he now has.

He's always booked up, and the waits are long, but Dr. Hoy is an excellent doctor who really cares about his patients and it shows. He always takes the time to explain things to you and never rushes you out of his office. Always orders all the necessary testing and his physical examinations are very thorough. He doesn't write unnecessary prescriptions just to make you get out of the office. Also is very kind and friendly. Can be embarrassing explaining problems to your Dr. But Hoy makes it less embarrassing. It can be uncomfortable lying on the exam table in just your underwear while being examined but Dr. Hoys kind demeanor certainly makes it more tolerable. Also helps for the part of the exam where you have to lower your underwear. Also, calls you for following up visits too which really shows you how good of a Dr he is. Definitely would recommend, especially to those who are uncomfortable with going to see the Dr.
