In 2016 my son detached from my placenta at 37 weeks and Dr. Braithwaite didn’t catch it. My weight did not increase the last 3 weeks of my pregnancy and no follow up was done. It was my first pregnancy so I didn’t know that this should be a concern. My son was born at 40 weeks and 2 days and he was only 5lbs, 2oz. I saw Dr. Braithwaite walking in the hallway as I was making my way to see my son in the ICU and he simply said hello and walked away. We spent 5 days in the ICU.

His bedside manners are terrible. I felt very uncomfortable with him.

This doctor gave me options in 1988 that were not common. I was carrying a frank breech baby my first pregnancy. He allowed me to choose c section or vaginal birth. I waited till my labour was active. Baby was still breech. Monitored labour and progression was great so we went with vaginal birth. Her bum, legs, body and arms came out but her head got stuck. I tried to push but it wouldn't work. Dr B used forceps to deliver her head and save her life. She has a broken skull bone from the forceps which was fixed by surgery.
That baby, now 28, is having her first baby. It's breech. I SO wish dr B was here to help her in her delivery!!

I am currently seeing Dr. Braithwaite for ongoing management of endometriosis. Dr. Braithwaite is an incredibly compassionate doctor. He listens attentively, and he really focuses on what you are comfortable with and what you want as a patient. He treats you with respect and dignity, and he has an excellent bedside manner. I feel like he truly listens to me and investigates things thoroughly for his patients' peace of mind. I just love him. Also, he is by far the most punctual doctor I have seen at the IWK.

Do not go to this doctor. He did what was a very simple surgery on me and I've had complications for 4 years now. I've been living in pain and he was of no help at all. He just sent me from doctor to doctor claiming no responsibility of his own. Now he has left the hospital and I have no way to reach him. If anyone knows how I can contact dr. Braithwaite please comment to let me know.

It saddens me to hear that Dr.Braithwaite is leaving Brampton. Many moons ago, he delivered me. I was born 3 months premature. He gave me a chance to fight for life.... And here I am. A good friend of mine had him has her OBGYN during her pregnancy and when my mother made the connection, I was thrilled. I have recently become pregnant and was looking to have him as my OBGYN, but he is now leaving. :(
I wish you all the best.
Thank you again, for giving me the chance to fight for life so many moons ago (almost 31 years).

One very sad but extremely grateful patient

It saddens me greatly that Dr Braithwaite is leaving to go to another province. He was my gyno and then became my OB when I became pregnant. He helped me through difficult times. Always took the time to answer any questions I had and never rushed me. I was admitted into the hospital with pre-eclampsia and high blood pressure during week 36 of my pregnancy. Dr. Braithwaite was there for me and gave encouragement along the way. He visited me every day, updating me on results and his plan to induce me. He is a very patient and kind Doctor who you can tell cares about his patients. I know I'm not alone in saying that I wish he wasn't going and that he could stay my gyno and OB for a future pregnancy. I just can't say enough about him. I wish him all the best and thank him for everything. He will be truly missed.

I have to say, Dr. Nicholas Braithwaite is THE BEST gyno I have ever had!!!!
The doctor I had for the pregnancy with my son was great but Dr Braithwaite is far and away the best out there.
I have had some issues over the years that have been difficult to deal with but each time I saw him, he would sit me down, explain his findings or what he would do and would not proceed until I understood EVERYTHING. He talked me through each procedure and prepared me for any pain or discomfort I would feel and would not let me leave until I had everything in order.(full understanding of next steps, all questions answered and all concerns dealt with)
It breaks my heart that he is leaving his practice here and moving to another province. I considered traveling to continue with him for my present issue but, sadly, that will not work.
I hope that the women he comes across next will truly appreciate what an amazing dr that have in Dr. Nicholas Braithwaite because a gyno, or any doctor for that matter, that will take the time to make you feel comfortable at the single most UNCOMFORTABLE times of your life and STILL take the time to explain everything to you, is a rare find indeed.
Good luck in all you do, sir.
