I saw Dr Staton for 21 years. He prescribed medication that really helped me. However, after 21 years, I had a back injury, surgery, etc. and the medication was not enough any more. We tried a few changes but I was hitting bottom, could not work anymore, had chronic pain and needed help. The day he said he could not help me any more was the last time I ever went. God bless Sandy (his receptionist) because she was always very kind and personable. Not a great idea to tell a very depressed person that there is nothing more they can do to help. Eventually I looked in the phonebook and found a clinical psychologist and am doing very well

I disposed of my coke on the way in as I thought it rude to bring a beverage into his office. He arrived, told me to be seated, I went for the comfy recliner and he told me that was HIS chair while he opened the coke he brought into his office. I sat in a hard back chair, my back to a clock and all the while I was speaking this doctor sipped his coke, watched the clock and never even gave me a cursory ahem..ahem...just so that I would think he was listening. When I was in the midst of what I would consider a huge crisis in my life, right at the most critical (to me) part, he smiled at me and said,"Time's up. See you next week" and he accompanied me to the door. It was like a season finale cliff hanger!I was disillusioned and asked the receptionist HOW she could tolerate working for a man like him and she looked me right in the eye and said to me, "I have to; he's my husband." Poor woman. I never went back and would advise you also not to waste your money. Try yoga instead.
