The way this arrogant man spoke to my dad was sickening....still leaves me feeling ill. Once my dad had his apt with Dr. Want he was a broken man! Thanks Dr for helping me witness my father break down in fear as you spoke to him like a child. Shame on you. Your patient's are NOT a number....they are loved my people. Maybe that is somthing you lacked in your life. I hope you find it some day.

I`ve had this idiot for the past 5 years . He has done nothing for me. He is ignorant, arrogant, very unprofessional and really knows nothing about cancer at all. The only thing he is good for is burning people with his radiation. I actually cant stand looking at his smug face any longer so its time to find a new oncologist who has some compassion for his patients.

Good Empathetic doctor-patient communication has the potential to help regulate patients'
emotions, facilitate comprehension of medical information, and allow for better identification
of patients' needs, perceptions, and expectations. Patients reporting good communication with
their doctor are more likely to be satisfied with their care, follow advice, and adhere to the
prescribed treatment, and have a positive well being, going forward for their possible
recovery.
Our complaint with this doctor, are related to issues of communication that encompassed
arrogance, lack of empathy, indifference, and misunderstanding. NOT his clinical
competencies.
Patients always want doctors who can skillfully diagnose and treat their sicknesses, as well as
communicate with them effectively and delivering it with the opposite of what is noted above.
Yes?
Most patients expectations of the doctor-patient communication is determined by the doctors'
“bedside manner,” which patients judge as a major indicator of their doctors' general
competence, and enthusiasm to utilize and “ go beyond and above” for their patients, during
treatment.
Yes?
We understand the doctor may have a very busy schedule and could have possibly had to
deliver negative news all morning long, which can be complex and challenging and take a toll
immensely on the doctors well being , because he is human too.
However, his unpleasantries that projected an icy, rude demeanor during his delivery of
negative, life changing results, did affect our fathers emotional disposition; it heightened any
anxiety that he did not encompass prior to, and it certainly ensured difficulty in forming a
positive bond with this doctor, including trust that the doctor will utilize everything he can to
improve the outcome.
Isn’t that exactly the opposite of what is supposed to happen?
We, as a family, who love our father VERY much. As, I’m sure you feel similar about your
loved ones. He is the stone of our foundation, and we want to continue to lighten this
journey, as much as we can, with surrounding him with love, empathy and support to assist
him in getting through the difficulties and hardships that will block and ,have blocked his path
now and again.
This is not done today, for the purpose of mirroring hurtful behavior. It is our wish, this will
guide Dr. Want, to possibly understand when a harsh and non- empathetic delivery is given,
how it affected our lives that day, during a very life changing, and frightening time.

Very very sad fellow! I am not just writing to be negative, but to offer similar stories so others feel they are not alone...A very odd duck I must say!! I tried to research him on Ancestry.com, to see where his roots began as he obviously has come from a strange up bringing! NO need to say that his odd manner is because he sees so many terrible cases...if he can,t handle it ...change professions....My spouse was already diagnosed as terminal. THere was not much that could be done, and we had consulted with Specialists in Toronto. THis character, comes in the room, plunks down on a stool, crosses his legs AND arms and says...Well....... Begins to ask my husband what is going on...should the Dr. not have been briefed by the Cancer Doctor OR even read his chart.....my spouse was in no shape to start a summary so I began to speak...only for the odd duck to say" do we all have to speak at once!!!" GIve me a cotton picking break.... From then on he would say...have you seen the such and such specialist...well no...you would not want to do that....have you been to Toronto to the specialists...no well you would not want to do that...and on and on...not one break even for either of us to ask, what role those specialists would play in my spouses prognosis or care...
He told us his role is only palliative......He is rated low on this website.....and if you really must know...it was not even in Sudbury we saw him.....he travels to out lying areas...and I began to wonder....if the hospital he was at for the week could not afford better!
he seemed to have a chip on his shoulder from the get go....nothing at all was resolved in two visits....just having to put up with the attitude as you try to go by the books to help a terminal spouse, as you do not want to be told you are not providing the necessities of life! IF I was EVER to have to see this odd duck again I would cancel the appointment!
OH yes and one day before an appointment his office calls and the girl says...You missed your appointment , we need to reschedule it...duh....not us I said...then she says oh...He is always getting the patient charts mixed up....hhhhmmmmmmm!
Number one...anyone researching...who is advocating for a relative ...you do have the right to refuse and ask for a different Dr.
LIke wise if it is for your self.......research well!!! Best of luck!

He is a very conceited, rude, arrogant and incompetent doctor. He did not know that I should have a CAT scan until I pointed out to him that I had an xray that required further investigation. He has the WORST bedside manner that I have ever run across. In my opinion, he is not thorough for a physician that is dealing with cancer patients.
