This doctor is kind and skilled. He communicates well on a level that makes sense to non medical people. Dr. Backstein removed a rather huge lipoma from my flank area. The scar is about half the size I thought it would be and has healed well. Overall it has been a top notch experience!

Dr. Backstein has managed lipomas for me for a few years. I have had many removed. He has always made me feel more than comfortable during the procedures. He is good at giving the neddle in a very minimally painful way which is obviously great considering how many lipomas I have.

Dr. Backstein accepted me as a patient at the height of the COVID-19 shut down in April to treat a melaoma skin cancer when we couldn't find any other surgeon to do it. The anxiety this saved me is not measurable and I am very grateful. Thank you.

My dermatologist at Toronto Dermatology Centre referred me to their plastic surgeon Dr. Backstein for my basal cancer. I was nervous, but was very impressed with the surgeon. The procedure took maybe 15 minutes max, and the healing has been terrific with hardly a mark left. This centre is absolutely wonderful and its doctors are world class.
