My 2.5 year old son has been holding his Bowels and also rubbing himself against things which was refered to as chronic masterbation. I stated that after much observation and the fact that I am a stay at home mother and watch him ALL the time i believe the rubbing himself came about the same time as the holding of the bowels and that they are somehow related as he seems to do the rubbing more and more as he is less able to hold the Bowels. He does not seem willing to listen to the parent of a child which is VERY detrimental to the diagnoses and child. Parents if you have the slightest thought that something may be wrong chances are something is VERY wrong. Get another opinion. I am about to do that very thing as I KNOW I am right and there is a connection between the two issues even though he believes there is not.

First appt that I made I was held up in traffic and called ahead to let them know I was closeby, front desk said they would check with Dr. Hirsh, I was told to reschedule. Next appt, I had to spend 5 minutes listening to Dr. Hirsh tell me he took the time to come in early to an appt that I didn't bother coming to" I informed him to check with his staff and I was told to come another day, he's scatterbrained, seems preoccupied, haven't dealt with any emergency's with him, but his office manner leaves you wondering.

This man is my hero. My son was born in 2007 and when he was about a month old I ended up in the emerg due to a bad case of excema. Dr. Hirsh is so far the only doctor to provide us with the correct ointment to rid my son of this uncomfortable condition. We followed up with our family doctor when we ran out of ointment and all they gave us was creams, creams don't work. He needed ointment. After a year of my son scratching himself and hating being naked he got a bad case of pneumonia. Dr. Hirsh was again the pediatrician that came to the rescue in emerg. He found many things wrong with my son and in a month his skin has cleared up, pneumonia is gone and iron deficiency almost gone and my son eats better than he ever has in his life. This man is my hero! Great doctor, 5 stars, 2 thumbs up and on a scale of 1 to 10 he gets an 11!!

My son was admitted to the ER just after midnight on New Years Eve with a seizure. Having a history of prolongued febrile seizures (17-19 min) it was imperative that we be seen in the ER as we'd nearly lost him once before to his first one. Prior to waiting an absurd time to be seen, I could hear Dr. Hirsh calling me the paranoid, new Mother (this is my 2nd child) with the febrile baby in room 4 punctuated with lots of laughter from him & the staff. After a quick listen to his chest that was about 10 seconds long, I was rudely told to give him some Tylenol and take him home at 4am because he was fine and I was overreacting. Before I could ask him a question, he was on to the next patient. Called my husband to pick us up as he was home with our other son and took him to another hospital to find that he pneumonia and he was promptly admitted for care & observation. If I had listened to Dr. Hirsh and not my gut & Mother's instinct, I'm sure I'd have buried my son not long after seeing him

My daughter was in the NICU in his care, I knew she was ill, he checked her over and said nothing was wrong with her, turns out she had strep B menangitis!! How could he possibly have checked her over and said she was fine when she was white as a ghost and you could see EVERY vein in her body? He told the nurse "to make mom happy run some tests!" If I wouldn't have been persistant with him my daughter would have been dead! She was transfered to childrens hospital where they told us she might not make it through the night, OOHH but Hirsh said she was fine! Now my daughter has brain damage, hearing loss (she was born with full hearing) and works with many therapists and has so many appts weekly! I am unable to go back to work now because of her special needs and so here we sit financialy struggling! Thanks Dr. Hirsh, thanks for making my daughter special needs, thanks for taking her hearing from her, thanks for making childrens hospital our second home and thanks for ruining our lives!

Dr. Hirsh is a wonderful doctor, he talks fast and seems very scaterbrained. But is very knowledgable and knows his stuff. My son was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and he alowed us to phome him at home if needed. I would highly recomend him to anyone. But i can say his secretary is very rude and should smile more.

Patients come first. He is very thourough and studys the whole intervention in detail prior to speaking to parents about sensitive matters. Dr. Hirsh now works out of Surrey Memorial Hospital.
