When I was looking at surgeons to perform my knee replacement in 2018, I chose Dr. Firestone. Why? I understood risks associated with surgery. If anything were to go wrong, I wanted an experienced surgeon who could draw on that experience to get me to the best recovery possible.
When a failed knee replacement became my reality, I trusted Dr. Firestone would help me. Instead, Dr. Firestone failed me.

I suffered from day one, I could not bend my leg. Dr. Firestone insisted the knee was perfect and told me he was tired of hearing I was not happy. Covid slowed me down but I found an experienced surgeon who told me what was wrong with my knee and said I could not live the rest of my life with this failed knee replacement. I had a knee revision several months ago and I am back doing my favorite exercises: biking, hiking, walking the golf course.
For those considering Dr. Firestone (and I do hope he has retired), please reconsider. I discovered the hard way that an experienced surgeon is not enough: Please find a surgeon who also possesses compassion, integrity, and empathy.

13 years ago he did both my knees what a mistake i'm paying for it now, they loosened up after a year and he told me to live with it the arrogant person, he is noted throughout scottsdale for his arrogance, what idiot would use this incompantent doc . go to mayo to get it done right.

He just replace my hip which was considered "complex" due to the injury. Remarkable. He was a pro. His staff were exceptional.

Just completed my 4th joint replacement from Dr. Firestone. He and his staff are excellent.
On each occasion Dr. Firestone has demonstrated his well-deserved recognition as an
outstanding surgeon. And, his staff, particularly Jeannette and Amber, are knowledgeable,
professional, responsive and most helpful. I would strongly recommend Dr. Firestone and
his team to anyone needing hip or knee replacement---they have made this 76-year old's
quality of life markedly improved.

It has been three years this month, since Dr. firestone assured me he would be my best choice for knee replacement. The surgery did not show complications..But by my 1 year visit I was not walking without pain. At two years I could barely walk without pain. Dr Firestone assured me his knee was fine and the pain was coming from the opposite knee and hip..I then went to another surgeon out of. State who immediately said the knee was loose. When I gathered all my previous x-rays, it was noted in the one year x-ray that their was loosening of the implant. I am now recovering from revision surgery. I could has been spared many months of pain if Dr. Firestone had been less arrogant and more professional about sharing with me the results of my x-rays that he had ordered

Dr. Theodore Firestone's office and staff and he, himself, are very professional, knowledgeable, helpful, on time and willing to answer all questions. I have talked to several individuals who have replaced one or more of their joints. His reputation is outstanding and this makes me very comfortable to have him replace my right knee. My left was replaced in '07 and went very well. However, it was not replaced by Dr. Firestone. From what I have heard, I will be as relieved after this replacement is complete as I was after my first knee. I have all the confidence in Dr. Firestone.

Dr. Firestone has done both of my hips when I lived in Phoenix. I traveled from Texas just for a checkup because I believe he is one of the best Orthopedic Surgeons in the country. I have referred others who were glad I did. I wouldn't want anyone else operating on my hips or joints.

I carefully researched all options in North America and was convinced Dr. Firestone was the best for my hip replacement. My experience from start to post-op and recovery confirmed my assessment - absolutely outstanding - so pleased that I chose to fly all the way from Vancouver to have Dr. Firestone and his team do my surgery. Extremely pleasant experience. The staff emailed all necessary paperwork so that it was completed and reviewed prior to the initial visit. The consultation with Dr Firestone was unhurried and most informative. Surgery scheduling was easy. Kristen and Amber promptly return calls/emails when I have questions. As stated above -- a pleasant and efficient experience.

I went to Dr. Firestone after my first replacement was causing me pain. He ridiculed the first surgeon (who had retired) and said he's the only one who does it right. He did the revision, and after nine months I was still in pain. I went back to him, and he didn't even look at the knee and told me, "There's nothing wrong with that knee. Besides, I wouldn't touch you, you're nothing but a junkie!". I was devastated, and found another surgeon that was very familiar with Dr. Firestone's arrogance. He did the revision and discovered that the knee was loose! Dr. Firestone's work was shoddy!!! Avoid Dr. Firestone at all costs!!!
