I have never waited in his office once in 7 years - the most punctual doctor I have ever been to. He cares and has helped my family greatly. He has looked after my sons condition perfectly refering me to specialists as required - he is stronger today because of his and the staff's efforts. He visited my daughter within hours of her birth to make sure we were okay. The staff are professional and some are very nice - treat them as you wish to be treated.

Uncaring, unprofessional and condescending. Went to him with high blood pressure complaint and associated headaches (was an acute symptom, as I found out later related to stress). His first response was - it could be a BRAIN TUMOR !?!?! What to do you call 'doctor' who gives you a morbid diagnosis like this without even performing any tests ? How do you think I was supposed to feel after hearing this 'competent advise' ? Surely enough, head X-rays did not reveal any problems at all, and blood pressure normalized by itself. Never again.

Dr. Surbey has been our family doctor for well over a decade. He is a compassionate, caring and no none sense doctor. He is down to earth and extremely considerate. Nancy is awesome too!

Dr. Surbey seems bored with routine health matters but spends caring time when our family members have significant health issues. The staff (aside from Nancy who seems bogged down with paperwork now) are miserable and create unnecessary stress for patients.(Missing paperwork, significant delays making referrals) They need training on how to treat patients with respect and to be more humane and less robotic. There are no smiles in this practice.

My family and I have been going to see Dr. Surbey for 15 years. I find with Dr. Surbey when it comes to the basic medical issue (strep, ear infection etc) he is basic and down to the point...here is your perscription see you in two weeks. However, when it comes to more serious conditions like serious depression, breakdowns, cancer etc... you have his complete attention and support and professionalism. He is a fabulous dr. and I would never consider leaving him as his patient. It is worth the two week wait for his appointments.

This doctor and staff are extremely unhelpful. I warn anyone thinking of using this doctor to look elsewhere. His office staff is rude to patients and books the appointments incorrectly, consequently accusing the patient of making a mistake. Beware!!!

Dr. Surbey is extremely thorough, always follows up and is very punctual in my experience. Having come from Northern Ontario, the difference between Dr. Surbey and the care by a family doctor up there where you wait weeks, months, years to see anyone is night and day. He refers to specialists quickly and he always ensures a follow up appointment. Dr. Surbey is not cold, he is just very focused and doesn't fool around and make small talk, he is there to do his job and he does it very well.

Dr Surbey has been our family doctor for many years. In my opinion he (and his staff) are excellent. I couldn't ask for better care. I have never found him abrupt or cold, but then again I don't bother him with every little minor thing. Yes it is annoying having to wait a few days for an appointment or a year or more for a complete physical, but that's the way it is. Complaints about this should really be directed to the provincial Govt. who have allowed OHIP to deteriorate to it's present state.

I have been a patient of Dr. Subeys for 17 years. Yes, he can be abrupt. Yes, he at times seems cold. However, he has looked after my parents, brothers and now my own children with the most incredible care. He is thorough. He does NOT prescribe meds easily. He is very quick to refer to specialists and has wonderful connections. His support staff is very personable and caring. I can't say enough about how wonderful Nancy is! Over the years he has gotten busier and the days of calling in and visiting on the same day are gone. You need to book a year in advance for a physical and often you do have to go to a walk-in which is very disappointing. I am willing to accept that only because I truly believe there is no one I would rather trust my children with.

He is good but his receptionists always says he's busy. We sometimes have to beg for urgent situation in order to be able to see him. But he's good with children.
