I was a patient of Dr Vallis some time ago & I would like to thank him so much for all his help . I really have no idea how cognitive psychology works but I do know that he helped me profoundly with my thought process & my relationships & my ability to deal with with what some people would consider a devastating illness . I will always be grateful...I'm a changed person for the better .

I was not too impressed after awhile. When a resident was with him he was a bit of a show off and talked down to me.

Dr. Vallis has been a profoundly helpful guide during some very difficult times in my life. While he does specialize in Diabetes issues, as a Health Psychologist he is very informed about all aspects of emotional health and human relationships. He has always been extraordinarily patient and insightful while helping me sort out some very painful situations (such as when my husband had to go through cancer treatment.) He is honest as well as compassionate, and his good sense of humour has always been appreciated as well.

HE IS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND A GREAT LECTURER,,HOW EVER AS GROUP LEADER HE LACKS SKILLS..THE COPING GROUP THAT IS HELD IS A WASTE OF TIME AS THE GROUP THAT RUNS IT IS A CORE GROUP OF 4 OR 5 PEOPLE THAT HAVE BEEN ATTENDING THE GROUP FOR YEARS NOT DR.VALLIS.IF YOU ARE NEW YOU VERY RARE GET A CHANCE TO TALK OR EVEN BE INTRODUCED .THE TOPICS DISCUSSED ARE VERY RARELY DIABETES RELATED..THE CORE GROUP CHAT ON WHERE THEY R GOING TO EAT AFTER THE GROUP AND WHAT HAS BEEN GOING ON IN THEIR LIVES SINCE THE LAST GROUP..NO COPING SKILLS ARE NEVER SUGGESTED USUALLY ONLY 1 OR 2 PEOPLE FROM THE CORE GROUP GET TO TALK..THIS GROUP IS A WASTE OF GOVERNMENT MONEY AND SHOULD BE PUT O BETTER USE ..TO FIND A FACILITOR WHO IS SERIOUS ON HELPING DIABETICS WITH COPING SKILLS THEY NEED..THIS OTHER SOCIAL GROUP SHOULD MEET ON THEIR OWN TIME...

A very supportive, kind, knowledgeable, compassionate psychologist who really listens to you and helps you feel you can "soar to the moon" if that is what you truly need to do for yourself

Dr. Vallis was very helpful when I saw him. I enjoy listening to his lectures on TV. The only bad thing I have to say is when meeting him outside the office he is not very personable.

Dr. Vallis is an expert on diabetes and obesity. He is a wonderful listener. However, he does no just sit there - he teaches, confronts, supports, encourages you to accept your situation, to change whatevery you can in your life, and to get on with living. Being in a group with him is awesome.
