Unfortunately (a) much of the services offered at this clinic are not covered by OHIP, and (b) she does not do trigger point injections (the kind with lidocaine/Marcaine). I tried the acupuncture pen/gun thing she uses, but it did not help me the way the trigger point injections with freezing do. She seems very eager and open minded in her quest to help people. One feels like she will do what she can to help a person get the referrals and care they need. That is inspiring.

Dr Heather Tick is the best example of a hybrid doctor - one that has the knowledge and expertise of an experienced GP combined with a vast knowledge of alternative healthcare. She will never recommend drugs or surgery unless she is certain there is absolutely no other option. She is open-minded, caring, and dedicated to helping people live without pain.

Dr. Tick is an excellent, excellent doctor. It is so refreshing to see a doctor who is kind, patient and really knows her stuff -- western AND non-western. She really understands how various body systems interact and has a wealth of knowledge of non-traditional methods. She encourages patients to take control of their own health. She was my GP and I was soo sorry when she closed her family practice. I've yet to find someone to replace her. She was also a huge help to me with pain management issues. She is an expert acupuncturist and although the treatment was painful I credit it and her with helping me to make a full recovery.

While I too have had to wait a fair length of time in the waiting room to see Dr. Tick I am more than willing to overlook any delays in exchange for the wonderful medical advise I have received. Thanks to Dr. Tick I have been diagnosed as having Hemochromatosis and currently receiving treatment for it. While no other medical progessional thought to test for this iron overload disease Dr. Tick has helped save me from developing potentially fatal consequences that can occur if left untreated. She has also recommended some lifestyle changes that have really been beneficial. Thanks again Dr. Tick

Dr Tick was my GP for 20 years, and has also helped me with accupuncture. I miss her terribly as my GP - she is open minded to all sorts of options beyond western medicine and has studied a great many areas, like how our food is really made. She made a great difference in my life and health. However, I have been disappointed with a few doctors to whom she referred me for various issues - they were so unlike her, it was shocking. And I wondered how and why she chooses those doctors & specialists. In addition, I have found her receptionist to be somewhat rude and unhelpful. Particularly now, with a clinic where one pays for services, I would expect to be treated as a paying customer who has other choices, not as a nuisance.

She gave me more general medical info than my family doctor. She is straightforward and tell it like it is. However, she is constantly late. I waited for over 2 hours one time and had to leave without seeing her.

Dr. Tick is a very progressive doctor. She is very aware of alternative options and a firm believer in massage therapy, acupuncture and other ways to heal the body.

After 9 years of stumping other doctors, I saw Dr. Tick once, and her advice had me on the road to recovery within weeks. It's been about 5 years since then and I'm doing great. Her advice was thoughtful, professional, and clearly tailored to my particular situation. I recommend her to others I know with similar complaints.
