Wow I read about how great her treatments are. It would be nice if she would actually treat me! I have had two appts with her. Once she kind of looked at the problem area. She spent the whole appt going into my diet and referring me to her website. BTW, the website has ads for her book...kind of lame. She wanted me to make a TON of changes (gluten-free, dairy-free, no sugar, no processed foods, all changed right away. It was a pretty tall order. Such drastic lifestyle changes are not usually long-lasting. The next time we met I thought it was so she could do the procedure. But she didn't ask about the problem area at all. She just asked if I had read about Gun IMS on her website, which I had. She then asked what changes I had made of what we had discussed (as if I had agreed to them). This second appt was focused on lifestyle stuff rather than treatment as well. It was frustrating because when I made this appt I specifically asked for the treatment.
I have a grad school education in the health sciences and work in health care. Some of the claims on her website are not backed by evidence in the literature. If I need nutritional advice I will go to a nutritionist or consult one of the many books I have at home from the grad-level nutrition courses I took. If I want to learn about "The Top 10 Recipes to Burn Belly Fat" or a super healthy smoothie recipe, I will watch a Dr. Oz show. I was referred to her to see if the procedure she performs is appropriate for my issue, not waste my time being told to drink more water. Don't get me wrong, I love integrative medicine, and I have used acupuncture, massage, naturopathy, etc., to enhance my health. I just want to get what I came for. I can't wait until I get the bill.

I am not impressed with Dr. Tick's practice. I suggest someone else. Try to find a better pain management specialist.

Dr. Tick comes to Toronto and her IMS treatment helped my repetitive strain injury tremendously. I had 5 months of physio but her deep accupuncture needles just did the trick. I've been seeing her for 3 months already and she is a caring person. She showed me some stretching exercises and we talked about my doet.Yes, you sometimes have to wait a while for your turn but it's worth it and just bring a book to read. I haven't found a doctor like her in Toronto.

I totally agree with the person who gave Dr. Tick a bad rating. I wouldn't have minded the wait if she was attentinve and caring. She told me to go back to my G.P. for meds (and we all know the G.P's no nothing about pain medications or side effects to watch for). I found her dismissive, rushed, and indifferent. I was really struggling with pain and she made no recommendations of any worth...when I was in pain after a IMS treatment she just stopped doing them instead of trying a different approach. I find she is too divided between here and U.S. ..and should focus.

I'm sorry to disagree with so many, but there are alot of knowledgable doctors out there who can who can run an efficient office and not keep people waiting hours on end, how does that happen?????? I left my north Toronto home one day at 12:45pm to get to a 2:30pm appointment. I arrived at 2:20 pm and wasn't ushered into the office until 4:40 pm, then, Dr Tick didn't come in until 5:10pm, when she did, I was so upset it was a totally wasted afternoon, I completely forgot everything I wanted to discuss. That was 5 years ago, haven't seen her since and don't plan on it. Too stressful. She spent all of about 8 minutes with me after all that time, and not so much as a "sorry to keep you waiting", ??? how incredibly rude, I don't care if she is a doctor, you don't treat people like that!!

Dr. Tick seems very knowledgeable, and she quickly made specific & surprising diagnoses of my repetitive-strain injury. But she finds a LOT of ways to charge patients for her services; being Canadian, this makes me very uncomfortable. (When I was horrified at the $35 charge for photocopying 2 pages of lab results, the receptionist snuck off and did them for free.) Dr. Tick offers IMS treatment, which is actually available (cheaper) from some physiotherapists. Some of her other special treatments are of dubious efficacy (according to my brief internet research). And I particularly object to being sold a diet-supplement (she advocates some low-carb diet plan). But she was right to send me to massage therapy instead of surgery.

I love her - wish I could clone her so I could have her as my family doctor. Very knowledgeable about alternative, natural ways to treat problems. Yes, she is usually very late (I waited 2 hours the first time), but once you know that, if you are smart you can make plans to use your time wisely. She is only available part of the month as she is in Arizona much of the time. The acupuncture was helpful for my problem.

After waiting for almost an hour, I realized while listening to Dr Tick that she was worth the wait. She was thorough, knowlegable, and very open for my questions. She really took her time to listen, so rare these days with most doctors! I have begun to apply some of her suggestions from just last week and can already feel some poitive results. She is very much in line with natural treatments, not just prescribing drugs that don't address the issue. Will try the Gumm accupuncture treatment today. Have heard good things as far as its effectiveness.

I waited for almost an hour to see the doctor, but once she started to speak i knew she was well informed and relayed vital info that I could understand. She is very congenial and open for answering all questions.
