Excellent doctor. Had cataract surgery a couple of weeks ago and it could not have been better. Appointments were always on time and staff was knowledgeable and pleasant.

No bedside manner at all, ignored all concerns for his own opinions, made in surgery decisions I did not agree to, made it seem like I agreed to an extremely painful procedure, and the college of doctors and surgeons twisted and even falsified facts when I made a complaint

I want to see Dr Stan George for a 930AM appointment. I had my 82 year old mom with me as my driver cuz they said my eyes would be dilated. I had to wait to get into first two rooms which was not so bad. It was 1130AM and I was still waiting to see Dr Stan George. He was calling in these people all who arrived way after me before me. Because my mom who is elderly and waiting for me was getting rather tired, she said to him when he came out are you even calling patients in order. He just looked at her and ignored her. She went to desk to complain and all the lady at the desk said was it does not matter what time your appointment is, it is NOT first come first serve. Say what ? Then why bother give me a 930AM appointment. It is not like it is a walk in clinic. Everyone is giving appointments. Meanwhile my mom and I are seeing people with 945, 10, 1015, 1030, 1045, 11AM appointments all getting in to see Dr Stan George before me. And all they can say is, it is not first come first serve. That is weirdest thing I ever heard. We had a 930AM appointment ? Does that mean anything at all. At one point the lady at desk said talk to Dr George not us, so what is he doing then, playing favortism and taking who ever he wants before others. At one point the lady at desk came to me and said have you seen him before. I said yes I have. She said when ? I said not sure, maybe 5-7 years ago. She said oh thats why its been so long you are basically a new patient, and regulars get in quicker ? Say what ? So if I have a 930AM appointment regulars and whoever Dr George knows cuz he seems to play favortism will get in before me. We never even made it back home until after 1PM. My poor mom was exausted. Other than that he is probably an OK doctor but I do not understand their appointments and system of talking people in to see the actual Doctor. Because if you have an earlier appointment than others it certainly seems like it does not matter at all.

If you’re looking for a personable Dr you may want to go elsewhere. May be a great doctor but dealing with patients is part of it and he has no time beyond what he feels warranted to answer questions or make some one comfortable with their situation.

Anyone ever had the wrong lens inserted in the eye for cataract surgery. Not pleasant. Was told to get prescription glasses and see him again in 6 months.

Dr George was very professional and his knowledge and explanations of what will be done were excellent. Not impressed with reception. Constantly changes my appointments. For each eye the appointments changed 3 different times . I understand the crucial surgeries like cornea transplants, but why all the other changes? No reason was ever given. Messages were just left and take it or leave it. Drives have to be re- arranged ,if possible, and schedules changed. Patients’ time is valuable too.

I have been a patient of Dr. Stanley George for over five (5) years having been referred and in contact with his office manager on several occasions since I was diagnosed with Fuchs. I required cornea transplants in both eyes. I reside in Mount Pearl, NL so was required to travel to Halifax on two occasions for the purpose of these transplants. One took place approx. four years ago and the other! July 15th, 2019. As I said, I have had regular contact with Dr. George’s office and have been fully satisfied each and every time. Both surgeries were totally successful and I commend Dr. George and his office for their total professionalism, patience, understanding. It was obvious to me Dr. George and his staff, especially Dr. George, were extremely busy. Notwithstanding, I was fully informed before, during, and after each surgery as to exactly what I needed to know the which put me totally at ease. I felt totally as ease throughout the procedures and had no issues of concern whatsoever. I fully recommend Dr. George to anyone who is fortunate enough to be referred to him. Thank you Dr. George and your staff.
