I showed up 12 years ago, a week after camping north of Lacrosse Wi. with a classic bulls eye rash the size of a paper plate and all the additional Lyme problems. Joint pain, heart palpitations, blood pressure spikes, my triglyceride cholesterol was 742, nausea, and severe fatigue. Dr. Guy was on vacation when I first came in and Dr. Herman said not to worry about it, it was probably just a spider bite. I was passed around to every specialist in Lake County and McHenry County for years until it finally broke the brain barrier and really screwed me up. Four years ago I finally got to a Lyme Literate Dr. who immediately started my road to recovery. Because of the original mistake there is permanent damage that I will have to deal with. Lyme awareness is crucial, because the effects of Lyme are devastating to the victim and their families .
