A doctor should be willing to include the parent in the decision-making for the child's health. My child has a clear and life-threatening disability, diagnosed since birth by Dr. Gold, but unfortunately he was unwilling to support a 504 Plan to keep my medically-fragile child safe at school unless I brought my child in for another doctor visit and test, at $2900. Insurance would have paid for it, but that's beside the point. I felt that he did not have my child's best interest at heart, because all of my child's other specialists supported their diagnoses fully to the school. It seems odd that he insists on scheduling my child to have 4 appointments yearly, even when my child is not sick. Unfortunately my child has not benefited from all these appointments and tests, and I have withdrawn my child from this practice. If you want a doctor who requires costly and time-consuming appointments, and won't support your child if you disagree with him, then this is the doctor for you.
