He has a horrible bedside manner. He tries to scare you. He told me bad things about my prognosis, while the NP told me that my prognosis was good and my bloodwork was always very good. I am now getting a second opinion by another doctor because I strongly believe he misdiagnosed me. This doctor needs to retire.

The reviews are either one star to 5 stars. That's from one extreme to the other. I've experienced the same situation noted by other patients. I was a patient for a few years because I was told god forbid I got a recurrence he was THE doctor. After 3 years and total 2 or 3 minutes for each appointment I didn't have confidence. At my last appointment I purposely timed the visit and it was under 2 minutes. I'm going to a women oncologist and what a difference. She bought me out of my funk and I'm am finally feeling understood and having full exams. She spent over an hour at my first appointment and the same with every appointment since.

This doctor is one of the worst I’ve ever experienced. His staff enables his grotesque behavior. He treats me for hematology and one of my goals was to conceive since I’ve had multiple miscarriages. In one visit, he waited for his nurses to walk away and proceeded to tell me how I should try to conceive. It was creepy and predatory. He knew it was inappropriate because he stopped talking the minute his nurse walked in.

He’s asked me multiple times what I do for a living. He’s discriminatory of women of color and seems to want to test my education level. He even forced me to give him my email so that he can send his sons resume to me.

He spends all but 1 min with you and does not tell you what is wrong. I still don’t really understand my diagnosis.

Lastly, and the worst of it. He handed me another patients entire medical record and asked me to share those with my OBGYN. I don’t trust my information is in the right hands and I will be reporting him to HIPPA.

Very knowledgeable but worse bedside manner makes you feel stupid when you ask questions. Doesn’t validate your concerns or pain. Great at the beginning but once your past your crisis he doesn’t give you the time of day. Narcissistic and rushes out before you have time to ask questions. He should retire he’s burnt out in my opinion.

I wouldn't walk, I would run away from this doctor. I had a test done that I brought the results with me to the appointment. I wanted to show him everything was good from another cancer I had. He took one second to look at results and said this is bad. I asked what is bad , he said the results the cancer is in your bones. I told him it's not what I was told he said that's how I read it (one second glance at report). I was devastated. To make a long story short I found out it definitely was NOT in my bones. I had surgery to remove the single tumor and I am now cancer free. Problem with him he's always in a hurry!!

Yes other's say he knows his stuff; I"m sure he does we couldn't tell from our dealings with him. In the case of my wife's cancer he is doing the standard treatment that the other 2 Onco's we consulted with said they'd do. After 4 visits with Waintraub we switched. He doesn't listen , is very much in a hurry, he reviews your chart in a minute once he walks into the room, and 2 minutes later he is trying to leave. We've had to have his nurse call him back to answer questions on more than one occasion. My wife had pains after her surgery and every time she mentioned them he would dismiss it and tell her he wouldn't scan her again yet. We never asked for more scans.. just asking if these sorts of post-surgery and medication side-effects were normal.
Others say he's great and I'm glad that he is for them, he wasn't the doctor for us. We went to another Onco at the same facility and the experience was night and day.

I have been with Dr. Waintraub for 8+ years. I started at Stage 4 and had a reoccurrence in the Fall of 2016 and he and his staff have been with me every step of the way. He may be hurried and 'short' on time, but he is brilliant and I trust him with my life. It is my opinion that the reason ALL of the doctors at the Cancer Center are hurried -- they are being pressured by the hospital's administration to bring in more and more $$$$'s! If they would only let these physicians do their jobs what a wonderful world this would be!

Although Dr. W's manner can be brusque or hurried, he is smart, caring, and apparently up to date on all there is to know. He has kept me in great shape re: early stage breast cancer over the last 5 years. Any questions he may not have answered can and will be addressed by his nurses or PA. Btw, the facility in Hackensack is gorgeous: fit for a queen. If you have to wait, no better place to be with snacks, beverages, books, puzzles, etc.
