We went to visit this doctor searching for answers regarding my daughter's undiagnosed neurologic condition. Instead of asking the patient, my 16 yr old daughter, what her symptoms were or paying attention to my description of the problem, she just went for the diagnosis that the nurse gave her. After paying $590 for a specialist consultation it ended up being done by the assistant; we left with the same unanswered questions and feeling like we have just wasted valuable time and money. The doctor did not spend more than 15 minutes with us.

I totally understand there are long waits to see most Pediatric neurologists. Well.. after waiting months to see her and then driving almost 2 hours to get there I was EXTREMELY disappointed with the outcome.

All that waiting and driving just to talk to me for 10mins and really not give me much of anything? My son already had an autism diagnosis so I was going more so that she can do some comprehensive testing, spend time personally evaluating him, and helping me get some answers.


I honestly feel like i accomplished absolutely nothing during this visit.. literally went there for her to agree that my son is self directed and defiant. Super disappointing!!!!

Dr Vasconcellos has been treating our daughter for years since she was working at Miami Children Hospital, she is the only doctor who prescribed my daughter a treatment that control her disease and we are extremely happy about how she treats our daughter, the office’s staff is very friendly and always willing to help, Dr Vasconcellos really cares for her pretty sick patients all of them mainly kids, a lot of love and compassion, she hears the family, takes time with the family and patient in the office and at the end delivers the best treatment option for our daughter, always helping people, very cooperative and always educating and advising parents in how to handle this kind of kids, if you have a kid with any neurology problem this is the doctor to go, highly recommended, no words to describe her kindness and expertise, you have to go and feel it….every time we left her office we feel that our daughter was treated not by a doctor but for a family member who loves her as much as we do, Thank you Dr Vasconcellos and staff….

Best Neurologist. Intelligent, Kind, and passionate about patient care.
She has made a significant difference in my son's life and in the wellfare of our entire family. As a physician, I am impressed with her wealth of knowledge and dedication. As a mother, I have relied on her sound advice and resources that have guided my options and assured the success of my son, Alex.
The office manager, Candy, and her staff are competent, courteous and have also offered tremendous support.

Dr. Vasoncellos and her office staff are the best in Miami. The knowledge, resources and attention to detail is no where to found in Miami. Dr. Vasconcellos assists with all medical and social issues. She has helped my son greatly with social issues, by suggesting the appropriate therapies, included ABA therapy, because of her help kids on medicaid in miami now receive ABA services. My sons headaches are also under control due to a medication she prescribes that is a one for four: it opens his appetite, helps with allergies, helps migraines, and helps him calm down. And if your child needs a referral to another specialist, for example, heart or endocrinology she always assists with the referrals. She is a doctor with true vocation coupled with exceptional intelligence. I have been to many neurologists in this city and you will feel relief to find someone who takes such good care of your child. Yes, you do have to wait sometimes, but where in Miami do you not have to wait to see a doctor. At least, she is well worth the wait. And the staff is excellent because they are a reflection of her excellent care practices.

We have been using doctor vanconcellos services for more than a year. She is VERY helpful, caring , and knowledgeable. She would answer all the questions we had about our daughters spectrum. she will take the time to explain pros and cons of therapy and thanks to her we have seen a change of the behavior of our daughter. She also went over some resources out there to help us. We are so glad she shares those resources since not every doctor does it. She goes the extra mile to help. The manager is also a great help, she responds emails in a timely matter and does extra to help the patients. The place is full most the time, thats not a surprise since she is good at helping with neurological issues. We will keep using her services and we recommend her. You will not regret it.

I took my daughter for a neurology evaluation because she was behind in speech and was worried about it. Once i was there the attention was great, all the staff were very nice. The doctor is very knowledgeable. She also helped me with information about the types therapies and early steps for my daughter. Answered all my questions. I strongly recommend her. She is very easy to get a hold, just an email away.

Great doctor. Great staff. Always willing to help. Easy to contact, just an email away. We have visited an abundance of neurologists and unlike many doctors she actually LISTENS before offering a solution. She informs the patient of all the possible solutions, and let's know the pros and cons of each. It has been said that what can often matter most is not how much a person knows, rather, how much they care. Thankfully though, Dr. Elza Vasconcellos is both a well prepared and knowledgable doctor, with an equally matched level of care and concern for the betterment of her patients. I suffer from severe head aches everyday, after visiting so many different doctors including various neurologists, Dr. Vasconcellos is the only one we have stuck with, because of successful results and her level of attention, consideration, accessibility, knowledge, and an equally great staff.
From the age of 19 I have been suffering daily head aches, and it took two years to finally find a doctor like Dr. Vasconcellos who was willing to work with us to find relief. We have recommended her to various of our friends with a variety of health problems and they have all been as equally impressed and satisfied with Dr. Vasconcellos.

Had a quick appointment date and was able to see the nurse practitioner and Dr on the same visit! The staff was quick to respond and they were very pleasant! Yes it hard to call but they are an email away!!
