The only reason I go to Dr. Malik is for prescription refills because her office is filthy, she does not sanitize her equipment and every time I go in there, I see plastic speculums with specimen sticks floating in a bucket of water!!! These are disposable after each use and she is reusing them!! Absolutely disgusting! I refuse to let her do any physical exam on me for fear of cross contamination!! I had her refer me to a gynecologist for my exams so I could feel safe being examined. She wants to solve everything by prescribing more and more pills; she is very unprofessional by talking about other patients with you in the room and calling them names and she is always yelling at her secretary Margaret, although she is not the sharpest tool in the shed. I finally had enough and started the search for a new family doctor and although I would prefer a female, I would take anyone else over her in a heartbeat. Luckily, it looks like I have found a new one so thank goodness I do not have to go back to see her ever again!!!

The office looks dirty. Carpet in a clinic setting makes me uneasy. The animal clinic I work for is much cleaner.
There is signs all over of "do not do ____" s basically sit down, don't talk, don't move lol. Very rudely written signs. (P.s parents know their children are their responsibility)
She asked me about my full medical history in front of my partner, which really he knows everything about me but it's still unprofessional, and lacks privacy. But not everyone is comfortable giving their medical history infront of others.

Comments regarding my baby's hair "wow he has lots of hair. That's not typical for boys. Only black babies.. or uh coloured babies."
My fiance and I were just kind of shocked she made such uncomfortable comments.
She was very stern staying don't to to a walk in or to the Dartmouth general.. didn't explain why. If I can't get an apt in a timely manner I'm going to bring myself to a walk in.

She went over how apts work with my newborn and mentioned his vaccines. And she very condescendingly said you are vaccinating him right. (Yes. We are. Not by her at that dirty clinic though!)
We left very put off.

We really love Dr Malik. She follows our newborn ( now 4 months ) and always takes the time to answer any questions. We never wait long in the waiting room and our little guy just adores her. I wouldn't even consider having any other dr follow our guy.

I was having symptoms of fibroids. She did nothing to investigate. I went to another doctor who sent me for an ultrasound and referred me to an OB. Fibroids. I only went to her three times. That was enough. Terrible.

I never advice anyone to go to her I had a horrible experience with her during my delivery and she complicated my delivery with fourth degree episiotomy. Also improper stitches and she left of some sponge during stitching which made me to go for surgery three days after delivery since I lost so much blood. It’s been a year now still I am not completely recovered.

I was a patient of hers for awhile. I became pregnant and told her my issues being admitted to the IWK for 8 weeks on strict bedrest with my last pregnancy and told her I needed an internal ultrasound to see about early labor as that was my issue with my last pregnancy, and told her I would need a cerclage in place if I were to become pregnant again. I asked her every single appt from June until September. I was belittled each time and the final time I was at her office. I was called out and yelled at saying each pregnancy was different. I was admitted to the IWK during my "routine" 20-week ultrasound. The ultrasound technician said my bag of water was hanging out and its a miracle I hadn't lost the baby. I was admitted and had to have emergency surgery and have the cerclage placed; the one I told her I would need. I filed a complaint with the College of Physicians and Surgeons, she was fined and had to move her office as her last one wasn't up to standards. You could hear everything from her waiting room and she had closet doors on the exam rooms as a regular door. She one time at an appointment asked me for a drive home?! How this lady is still able to practice medicine is beyond me! I have never in my life come across a Dr so unprofessional, rude and curt as she was. It has made it very difficult for me to trust someone who is supposed to have my health concerns and work with me to address them. I don't think she has the right to care for anything let alone a human being.

When I moved to Dartmouth 3 years ago, no other doctors were accepting patients except Dr Malik. So I was very happy to find a family doctor for me and my young daughter. I think we saw her 3 times, and I only go to walk in clinics now, I would rather go without a family doctor than to be seen by her. She yells at her receptionist, she is always late and she leaves the door open when seeing you. She was very rude to my 5 year old daughter, who was so scared of her she hid under the table when Dr tried to give her an immunizations. Which, after I found out that Dr Malik was reprimanded because she was not mixing immunizations correctly. Don't go to this doctor. You will regret it. She should not be practicing medicine.
