The main entrance is horrible. Lack of maintenance and cleaning of the sliding doors that greet you. Heavy salt stained doors, slides that jam open. Just not is expected to be found in a hospital. Staff at the reception on the other hand was warm, friendly and helpful.

Smells gross, looks dirty, longer wait times. Certain doctors are pretty bad towards patients with chronic pain & tachycardia.

Went to emergency over the weekend. Was filthy. Was put into a room where the bedding wasn't changed, bloody bandages on the floor and was awful. The first doctor drilled me over and over again not listening to what I was saying. I told her I had a gastric attack after having a sip of wine which didn't go well with my reflux and she took that as if I was allergic to wine and why would I drink something I was allergic to. After I needed a needle which I had to wait an hour and a half for. Worse hospital ever!! So angry.

ER has Extremely long waits, work partially completed, only to be left for another long wait, at times no dr in ER at all, I mean come on, how does your ER not have a DR!!!! Staff is really unorganized, I made a joke that I was forgotten about and it turns out, I was! So much more I can't say, maybe they need more dr's, but for cryin out loud do your best with what you got!!

i recently had surgery at the Dartmouth General after arriving through the Emergency Department just before Christmas. I found the staff were efficient and kept me informed of what I was experiencing and what would happen next. During my short stay I has X-rays, C-T scan, lots of blood work and pain meds to make me comfortable. I was visited by several medical Residents and a number of nursers who compiled information effectively and were considerate of the extent of pain I was experiencing. The surgeon has a full schedule but spoke with me in a non-rushed and reassuring manner. The experience was very good.

This is a terrible facility and is more harmful than helpful. The doctors have no interest in treating patients. They don't listen and prefer to complain about "holes in the system." This facility should be avoided if at all possible.

This so called public hospital is a complete joke and a total waste of tax payers money. The so called nurses are total incompetent and lazy. They don't want to help patients and all they do is sit around and gossip. The so called LPNs are also a complete waste of space. Everyone from the doctors, nurses and LPNs should be all fired for malpractice along with the clerical staff for their attitude working with the public and their total incompetence. The place should be torn down and bulldozed into a public park. At least tax payers might get something for their money.

The worst hospital in all of nova Scotia. Next to no staff, the building is old and so is the equipment and the staff that are there are rude and don't know what they are doing.
