I first saw Dr. Legay probably 5-6 years ago, and we spoke at length on my left hip issue. He noted that I was still extremely active and understood my anxiety/reluctances to have surgery so we agreed to touch base when conditions changed. I scheduled an appt in Feb 20 and he suggested I have an MRI. It put the concern into focus and we agreed that surgery would be necessary. As the pandemic shutdown OR's he and his assistant Janice said to be patient and they would be in touch. I was lucky to gain an appt from a cancellation and I am now 3 weeks post surgery, healing exceptionally well and getting stronger everyday. My last visit he took the time to show the photos of my labrum tear and its repair. He really does and a great disposition and respect his honesty.

Compassionate, real and knowledgeable are the three compelling traits of Dr. Legay. I've had previous arthroscopic surgery performed by Dr. Legay so I have complete trust that my shoulder replacement surgery is in the hands of a truly skilled and kind surgeon.

Dr. Doug Legay did a full shoulder replacement on my wife in June. She was terrified to have it done but is so glad she did. She healed extremely well and has been a star at physio. So thankful for Dr. Legay and his skills and great manner. Also a shout out for his exec admin Janice. Really helped my wife above and beyond!

After breaking my fibula,I became a pt of Dr Legay. I had heard from others that he is a kind and knowledge doctor and that proved to be very true. I have had two appts with him
so far and feel really comfortable with his expertise and bed side manner. His staff at the DGH are friendly and very helpful! Also his administrative assistant (Janice) seems compassionate and easy to communicate with.This all adds up to a happy,satisfied patient. :)

100% improvement from the lack of care received from Ortho at Halifax Infirmary. Dr. Legay gives me the confidence that he’ll be able to fix my knee, allowing me to get back to running marathons again.

It was a great online appointment with Dr. Legay. He was friendly and knowlegable. He listen to me attentively and then gave me a very good advice on my injured shoulder. After the apoointment I recieved a detailed record of it. I am also greatful to Dr. Legay's Administrative Assistant Janice Oaks for helping me with the appointment set up.

I met Dr. Legay when I was admitted to Dartmouth General. March 2021
It was explained that I needed a hip replacement.
I was in the hospital for one week, then was seen by another Dr. Obrien.
I also seen Dr. Obrien at his office in April. 2021 I am on the list for surgery, and am still waiting. I can not walk without the walker, and am in constant pain.
This was all due to a fall in January 2020, fell down 10 stairs
I know if I had ended up with Dr. Legay, I would of had my surgery by now.
