I toiled for months before deciding to leave this comment, but I really feel it is necessary! Dr. Dowie Did Me Wrong! My appointment was with her, she was in the office I saw her. I was put in the patients room and the nurse practictioner comes in and tell me that the Dr. had to leave due to a dinner engagement. Needless to say I was not pleased because I had questions for her from my last visit. I tried to call and discuss this matter with her and I could not get pass the front desk, on behalf of the staff I am sure they are doing what the Dr. has told them to do. I was told I would need to make an appointment to talk with her, funny I had one and she had to leave for her dinner engagement. I am at another practice and although this doctor is busy as well, she manage to make you feel important. Dr. Dowie Patient Care Has Faded Away! Sad because I was a patient for many years (5), I remember when she cared.

The new nurse practitioner is so arrogant. I think Dr Dowie hires the cheapest labor she can get. There has to be nurse practitioners out there who actually know what they are doing. A medical office is no place for immaturity and attitude.

had blood work done, they said there was a problem, would not provide me with copy of blood work, said it was the property of Dowie, I paid for another visit went in and they said there was no problem; waste of time money and stress

I would NOT recommend Dr. Dowie. I scheduled a physical with her, and I had to wait 2 months for the first available appointment with her. When I went for the appointment they tried to push an intern...(a new inexperienced doctor I had never met) on me, even if I had specifically made the appointment with Dr. Dowie. When I told the staff, and asked for her, she did the visit, but with a bad attitude. Also, they used the wrong code when billing the insurance, and they were unwilling to review it, so it costed me $400 with the insurance. Needless to say I chose another doctor.

Wonderful doctor and nurses at this office! Only negative thing I can say is they don't always get to you at your schedule appointment time but Dr. Dowie is worth the wait in my opinion.

I'm a patient of Dr. Lori Dowie and I think that she and the staff are wonderful. I think that every business has good days, great days and a few bad days. Look at the overall picture. In this day and age she is a one man show ..... not multiple doctors in this office. She spends time with you, ask questions and does her best to improve your quality of health. A doctor can't fix you with one visit or a pill(s), we are responsible for eating right and exercising. Also, the Front Desk has to deal with many issues, cut them some slack, be nice, be pleasant. Your tone of voice makes a difference. I'm blessed to have found her and her staff and they have been great.

After being a patient for a little over a year with this practice, up until the last two interactions I've been extremely dissatisfied. The customer service from “front desk, billing etc." is so unprofessional. The billing rep Jess was extremely combative and argumentative; I could barely get a word in. When I missed an appointment, she threw it in my face, that they got me in the same day. This was an unrelated situation from what I was calling about, which was billing. There was a whole lot of assuming and unprofessional tone, I just had to hang up. I was not withdrawing my membership until today. HORRIBLE customer service and Dr. Dowie needs to step in and provide feedback. She allows this mess to go on. I have seen with my own eyes how rude they are with patients and loud the staff talks about patients and management does NOTHING. Horrible management! Never again will I step forth into this office.

I was horrified by the administrative practice of this doctor's office. I had to cancel an appointment after finding out that the office did not accept my insurance. I had not been to the doctor's office, nor or the internet and no one informed me over the phone of their 24 hr cancellation policy but I was still charged $50.00 after cancelling my appointment!
And the appointment was cancelled because of their office's negligence! They never knew whether my insurance was accepted and never informed me of this policy! I had to find this information out on my own and inform them.
It was adding insult to injury when I saw the cancellation letter charge of $50.00. I called the office and spoke to an office manager (male) who was dismissive and bordering on rude. I patiently explained my situation and begged that he consider my situation. But I still kept getting nasty collection letters. What rights do we have as patients? I don't want to ruin my credit and I hate paying this fee but this doctor's office has put me in a really difficult situation. I will never make another appointment here again. But as a single mother, this is hitting me in the pockets and really hurts because it is unfair and another brutal reminder of how powerless we are as consumers in the midst of these physicians with a medical assembly line mentality. Lori Lynn Dowie, you should be ashamed of yourself and keep a tighter reign on your office practices. What goes around comes around.

Although I have only been a patient of Dr. Dowie's for a little over a year now, I have had quite a few appointments and each experience has been simply wonderful. I had recently moved to the Gardens area and came to Dr. Dowie for a long overdue checkup. The initial wait was a bit longer then anticipated, and the amount of paperwork I had to fill out quickly became tedious. However, once I finally met Dr. Dowie the amount of paperwork I just filled out completely made sense. She is the most thorough doctor I have ever met. I typed up a list of questions I had for her that I wasn't comfortable asking her medical student who did my initial intake, and she took the time to go over each and every question with me. She then ordered blood work specific to my complaints and recommended I come back to get an ultrasound (which I couldn't believe they ALSO do in their office -- so convenient!!). I mentioned to her that I have terrible veins, and the worst luck with getting my blood drawn, so Dr. Dowie jumped right in and drew my blood herself. Not only was she successful on the first try, but her medical assistant came to my rescue with juice and a cookie when I got lightheaded afterwards. By the end of my visit I was just so pleased with my decision in choosing their office. I mentioned on my way out that I would eventually need to find a new ophthalmologist and Dr. Dowie brought me directly to her referral coordinator who set everything up for me that very same day. I just can't find anything negative to say about this office!

I have been a patient with Dr Dowie for 8 years. I have been extremely happy with my care there. The staff is always helpful and their phlebotomy skills are excellent. Most of the time my wait is no more that 20 minutes, however I will admit on rare occasion I have waited longer. During my appointments however, I never feel rushed and feel as though everyone attempts to insure I understand everything before I leave!
Have and will continue to refer my family and friends here!
