She has been awesome! I see her once a year, however, if I have any problems and need to see her before that, I have to be referred by family doctor again. Don't understand that! Have had some comunication problems with receptionist. I sometimes feel rushed through, but she doesn't miss a thing. Very happy with her!

I saw Carol Boyle for a seizure disorder. She seemed to think that I should participate in a study of tegretol even though I didn't want to. She was rude and dismissed my wife and my concerns as trivial in a most condescending way. She told me I would no longer be able to continue in a profession I love and that I could no longer drive. I was crushed and she showed not one ounce of compassion. I continue to do both with the help of another doctor who accomodated my choice of dilantin which has proven a totally effective treatment for many years now.

My mother saw this doctor in January. She was very rude and acted like my mom was just wasting her time. When my mom tried to tell her what her syptoms were, she told her she didnt care, she just wanted to know what was wrong on that exact day. She also seemed a little pisy that my mom had seen another neurologist while waiting for her app. But thats what her doc wanted her to do. Her bedside manner was unacceptable for a professional. My mother had waited over a year to see her and then was treated like she was dirt. I wouldnt take my dead dog to this horrid woman if she was the last person on earth!!! My mom left her office in tears! Never again

I saw Dr. Boyle quite a few years ago & I had an excellent experience with her. The stories I am reading here about her approach & manner with patients are not at all the Carole that I knew then. I must agree with the poster earlier who said that Dr. B. has changed over the years, as she has gotten busier, the health care system has gotten less supportive, with fewer resources and more pressure on doctors. She knows her stuff & she is a nice person underneath.

Wow, you read my mind. She was arrogant, patronising, but very helpful to my daughter with a brain injury. No one else could help us or give us the information like she did. She does not have a good bedside manner at all and really should read some of these remarks and take a course on Human Behavior 101 and "How to Talk to Your Patients Like They are Human Beings".

Dr.Boyle and I are similar and that is why we get along for 6 years now.I went to those "candy sugar coated" Dr. and got my pats on the head and hugs but the MS was not realy addressed. Is she errogant? Not really. She is a specialist, knows her stuff very, very well and treats you as you treat her. With the many years to become a neuroligist, treat her with respect. When you go to a neurologist things have gotten serious. If you show up without reading a single artice or knowing a thing about your medical issue then this is not the doctor for you.She will not sit you on her lap and read everything to you and pat your head.If you are serisous about being treated, then be serisous about seeing her.She plays by the rules and if a referral is needed, she will tell you to get one.Thats how things work.Need a Rx for something not in her field, she will send you to your home doctor as it should be.I am waiting to see her I dont want time being wasted because you are lazy. She keeps me jumping in life :)

I SAW HER ONCE AND SHE DOES NOT HAVE A FRIENDLY MANNER WITH PATIENTS...SHE WAS TO THE POINT AND DID NOT SEEM INTERESTED IN ANYTHING I HAD TO SAY,IT WAS ALL ABOUT HER WAYS...I THINK YOU HAVE TO GET ALL THE FACTS BEFORE JUDGEMENT IS MADE.PERSONALLY I WOULD RATHER SEE SOMEONE ELSE.

I can definitely relate to alot of previous comments, I have been Dr. Boyle's patient for 7 years and have had no problems~ though I do only see her on an annual check-up basis now. She is a doctor of details...if you don't have your details, you need to make sure you start a 'diary' of sorts to record your required information. The one frustration I do have is the phone consults (or lack of)~ when I need just a little information/reassurance, I am usually always told to go to my GP~ sometimes a reassurance from a specialist would do mighty things, and them maybe a 'reminder' to follow up with the GP. I think alot of people just need to give her a chance and not write her off after just one visit, she knows her stuff and haven't we all been in a place where maybe our 'occupations' have given us a bit of a 'rough edge'?

I found her to be very concerned , friendly and knowledgeable. She listened to what I had to say , which cannot always be said about some other neurologists i have seen

On my first visit with Dr. Boyle, she yelled at me to "get my books off" of her patient room sink counter! =D =D =D I do admit, Dr. Boyle is an aggressive competitive egoistic fem, but my first impression of her (I have NEVER gone wrong with doctor first impressions yet)is that her aggressive "in your face" approach can work for you. Just ask her a series of simple questions about your brain (that you rehearsed the night before.) Keep it simple and straightforward. She can work for you.
