I was 41 and pregnant with my 4th child . Considered high risk not only because of age but in the beginning also because i had a tubal reversal . Dr mammal was well aware i had three other children yet explained everything to me as if it was my first . To say that the care i received was top notch would be an understatement . Dr Mammal also referred me out to a perinatologist . Obviously that was his way of saying he didn’t have any issues making sure a second doctor also stepped in so my unborn child would receive the BEST care possible . The day my results came in from my maternit 21 year one of his nurses called me to deliver the results . I couldn’t see her face but i could hear the joy in her voice as she delivered wonderful news . My favorite of his nurses is Lisa . I don’t know why it just is . Even more so because Dr mammal was not available when it came time for me to deliver ( let’s face it he is human and has his own family ) she stepped right in and addressed a small hiccup i had . She made it a point to call the hospital on my behalf and call me to explain . She didn’t have to do that . I do not care that he can be point blank . I care that would advocate for myself and my baby . I care that i never had to second guess that he would do everything in his power to ensure a safe delivery of my child .

Dr. Mammel was the biggest let down for a first pregnancy experience. I was told in my initial visit that I would be seeing all the doctors in the practice in case Mammel was unavailable at the time of birth. I am currently in my last 4 weeks of my pregnancy and have yet to even see another face. His nurses are not friendly and seem to hate being there, except the younger girl with long brown hair. Dr. Mammel has zero bedside manner and spends at the most 5 minutes in the room with me. I do not recommend him to anyone, especially if it is your first pregnancy.

Dr. Mammel was an OK guy. He was nice enough, but only talked to me for a minute or two each appointment and didn't bother to get to know me. When I actually went into labor, he didn't ask me what I had hoped for and instead decided to induce me to "get this baby out by dinner". He was very uninvolved in the rest of the birthing process and only showed up at the very end to catch the baby and then quickly left again. I don't feel he was a bad doctor, he just didn't take the time or effort to treat me like a person. I did not go back to him when I got pregnant with my second child.

Dr Mammel delivered two of my babies and I am sad I won't need him to deliver anymore. He is a fantastic, knowledgeable, caring man who will spend time listening to you and investigating any issues you have or think you may have. I tell everyone to go see him or anyone at Watson Clinic for that matter!

horrible! his nurses were extremely rude and I felt as if he did not take my concerns seriously. I switched doctors in my 3rd trimester, I feel more comfortable with another OB.

Dr. Mammel is the most skilled Ob/Gyn I have ever experienced. I worked in the OR at LRMC for years, and when I became pregnant there was not a question of who I would want to deliver my baby. His bedside manner may be a little abrupt, but his skills in the delivery room are unparallel. Would you rather have a friendly obstetrician deliver your baby, or an incredibly reliable skilled one? Personally, as long as my baby comes out healthy, I don't care what their personality is like. I would NEVER have another physician deliver me, he is the best!
