Could use a little empathy with patients. Also shouldn't a doctor announce themselves or knock before entering the exam room. Just a little rude to me and not very empathetic.

Dr. Virley is a knowledgeable and professional physician. She's done a great job diagnosing and treating my health conditions. As a doctor she receives very high ratings from me. HOWEVER, as an overall experience, I cannot recommend visiting her at her current office. I have had a terrible time getting routine prescriptions refilled. I have chronic conditions which require daily medication. Whenever my prescriptions run out it's a nightmare. The staff forgets to respond to my calls or calls from the pharmacy. I'll have to call both the pharmacy and the doctor's office on a daily basis for over a week before I can get anyone to complete a simple fax. Even my pharmacy has complained about the reputation of Dr. Virley's staff, going so far to tell me that "All of her patients have trouble getting refills." This happens to me at least 2x a year, and when you take medications that involve life-threatening side effects when you stop, it's terrifying waiting for her staff to do their job.

Dr. Virley is courteous, knowledgeable and respects her patients. Every time I visit her office she takes the time to listen with a careful ear and then explain things in plain language. If I still have any questions after the wealth of detail and knowledge that she offers, she answers happily. Although her office is quite busy, she will never make you feel rushed. Unfortunately her front desk staff (not the nurses who check your measurements etc.) is a surly and bickering bunch. In my experience getting there on time or early they are unlikely to acknowledge you or your name on the sign in sheet for 20 minutes or more. The attitude is rude. No matter how polite you are a “thank you” will not be returned with even a glance.

Dr. Virley spends a considerable amount of time with you and is willing to take the time to answer your questions. I've never left her office feeling confused about my medical problem or rushed out of the office. I think it says a lot about an HMO doctor.

Dr Virley seems to be a very pleasant doctor. My issue is with her assistant (PA) and administrative staff. The staff is rude, disrespectful and not discreet with patient issues. God help me if I have to go back in an emergency before I get a chance to switch doctors. VERY DISAPPOINTING OFFICE!! If you need a perscription filled, better be prepared to wait a week for either the receptionist to give the PA the message or for the PA to decide to get back to you. Everyone there blames the other person! You will need to repeat your name over and over becasue they can't remember what went on 5 minutes earlier! My message on the phone today by the staff. "your pap came back fine" click hang-up phone. I mean how rude is that!

I really like Dr. Virley, I've seen her a couple of times because my regular Dr., Dr. Stark is so hard to get an appt with. I LOVE DR. STARK !!! The office staff however is the worst I've ever dealt with. They are rude, and messages NEVER seem to get to the doctor. It took a month to get a call back with the results of an x-ray. They over book so you can plan to wait at least an hour from the time of your appt to actually seeing the doctor. LOve the doctor's help the staff!!!

Dr. Virley is a great doctor. Her staff, the WORST! The reception staff consists of rude and unprofessional people. I have never received a prompt call back. I always have to call multiple times to check on a referral. The staff has always messed up my scheduling and even when I show up on-time, I still have to wait up to 40 minutes before I'm called into the exam room, where I wait another 20 minutes. It's a shame that such inconsiderate and incompetent people can have jobs, especially in the medical profession. The nurses always seem rushed, cold and rude as well.

I have had nothing but positive experiences with Dr. Virley. She takes the time to explain her diagnosis and is more than willing to answer questions.I have never felt rushed. I just recently had a biopsy and she called me right away and had a referral ready to fax to the surgeon. My only issue is that her staff seems a bit lazy. Dr. Virley wanted me to call that surgeon after an hour of our conversation to set up an appointment. The paper work was to be immediately faxed to them in that time period. I called several times and the surgeon never got the paperwork. When I called back to Dr. Virley's office the woman on the phone said that the girl who does the faxing was off that day. I had to insist that someone else do it at the doctor's request! Finally, just before the surgeon's office was to close, they received the report and I was barely able to schedule that appointment. I find that a bit ridiculous for the staff not to cover the job of faxing.

Doesn't return phone calls promptly, if at all; perhaps the staff is not giving her messages. When I requested that Dr. Virley or one of the staff call a special number to lower the tier (and thereby the cost) on one of my prescription medicines, I was told they don't make phone calls, they only fax, though I was told by Prescription Solutions that this is a common practice and that doctors do this all the time.
