Dr. Bernardo is a kind, patient, and caring doctor. I've been going to him for many years. However...his office staff and support system are atrocious, and I've reached the point where I just won't go to him anymore. Twice in the past 2-3 weeks I called and asked that he contact me. I just had an office visit, and I had additional questions. (I was also recently diagnosed with prostate cancer.) Both times he didn't return my call. I don't know who's at fault -- the doctor for being remiss or his staff for not getting the message to him. Either way, it's unacceptable and unprofessional. I also had blood work and a CAT scan done (one week apart), and in both cases no one contacted me with the results. I find the women at the front desk to be rude. I had stopped in on one occasion for something (independent of my recent appointment), and I stood at the desk with a question, and neither one even acknowledged me with a "Hello" or "How can I help you?" Furthermore, the wait time (combined waiting room and exam room) is consistently 45-60 minutes. That is completely unacceptable. I have been going to a few new doctors recently, and with all of them I have never waited longer than 15 minutes. Dr. Bernardo's skills and knowledge as a doctor are fine, but I now question whether or not he has become part of the deteriorating environment in his office. After all, I am not the first person to write a negative review for him (do an online search), and clearly he has control over his support staff, doesn't he? I have raised some of these issues directly with him, but clearly no steps have been taken to correct the problems. It's time to move on.

the dr. is good but he leaves you hanging when you need a call back. the office staff rots. the secretary does nothing and i mean Nothing. they arent friendly. lied about how late the office is open until. makes it seem like a chore to get a phone call in.

Dr. Bernardo is kind, caring, and takes time to listen and speak with you. I have been using him for the last five years or so. He is very accomodating about getting an appointment, ALWAYS calls back to follow up or just check on how I am feeling. He's the best!

Kind, good hearted and caring Doctor. I have seen him for many years and did not have a complaint about him. The only problem... occassionaly you had to call in to get lab results. I find him knowledgeable and up to date. I was a patient for over 10 years before moving closer to Ridgweood.

Doctor is pleasant enough, but not knowledgeable in care of aging patients. The office staff is not helpful and the doctor is terrible with follow up. Never returns phone calls.

Nicefellow but never calls back. This happened multiple times, never call back to refill scrips, had to contact head physician of pratice to get results. Needed to change medical group due to lack of follow thru. This guy sucks!

This doctor does not explain things well, rarely returns calls, does no follow-up, keeps you waiting a long time and then rushes you out. My experience was very frustrating. His treatment worsened my condition.
