How is he still practising if he did this to so many children over the years I was 4 years old when I began my visits safe to say as an adult woman I realize now what happened to me and so many others it truly makes me sick

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILD HERE. RUN.

I was subjected to an unnecessary and invasive vaginal exam at around 4 years old. Its one of my first memories and it is traumatic. This would've been in about 2002. I was extremely afraid and felt humiliated. I didn't understand why it happened then but I now know it was sexual abuse. I hated him and would kick him as a child whenever I could. I, too, was shaking last night hearing other survivors confirm what I have tried to forget. I will be filing a complaint with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Manitoba. He needs to be stopped immediately. I'm shaking reading the ratings. I am 30 and have always felt Dr. Alto was very inappropriate with me when I was a child. Touching inappropriately, asking me to squat and cough at 5 years old during a routine exam, always having to be fully naked. This man is a pervert. He needs to be stopped.

I knew something was not right about this doctor & what he did. He would ask my mother to leave the room, then continue with a very inappropriate & unnecessary exam.. it felt wrong but as a child you just think it’s normal & trust the doctor.

I too received the same sexually inappropriate behaviour from Dr. Alto. I remember having to get fully naked in front of my siblings as he would examine our private parts and he would always slap our bums after exams. Dr. Alto would purposely tell my parents to wait outside the room during exams.

I can see from the comments that dr alto has been sexually inappropriate with various children since the 1990s please do not send your children to him

Dr alto took advantage of me as a young girl touching and looking inside of my private area and slapping me on the bottom he would have me put my hands up and tell me to pretend he’s arresting me while he looked inside my bottom I am worried he is still practicing and after reading these comments I feel something needs to be done so there are no further victims

I was reading the last comment, and I just had to laugh. It's been 30 years since I was a patient of Dr.Alto, but he did ask somewhat bizarre questions about if I was sexually active and what not. I was 12 at the time. Aside from that, I found him cold, uncaring, and completely unprofessional. I had seen Dr.MacDonald for years since I was literally an infant until he retired, and he was great with children, and concerned for my well being. Enter Dr.Alto. On my second visit to see him, I was 13. Later in life, I found out I had a chemical imbalance diagnosed at 16, which caused a learning disability at school, which affected my self esteem and grades. When this was disclosed, he called in my mother, and started yelling that "THIS IS THE PROBLEM WITH KIDS TODAY! YOU GIVE THEM A HOME AND THIS IS HOW THEY REPAY YOU! I WOULD FORGET ABOUT BUYING THIS KID ANYTHING FOR XMAS OR BIRTHDAYS. I HAVE A SON EXACTLY LIKE THIS. HE DOESN'T CARE. HE"S TOO BUSY CUTTING CLASS WITH HIS PUNK FRIENDS!" This is coming from a Pediatrician, who seemed determined to have me confine in him any issues with sex or girls. No thanks. I ended up refusing to see this deranged individual, and ended up with a better Doctor.

I'm wondering how many other children have been taken advantage of by this Dr. Using his power as a Dr to force children to let him see and touch their private areas when it's absolutely not necessary. His consistent need to look at my child's penis EVERY visit, regardless of why we are there, became very concerning. I've had to stop bringing my son there because of his disturbing behavior towards him. The way he speaks to him about how he must be physically appealing to all the girls because he's so handsome... At 5 years old!?
This Dr is, and as I am reading many many comments below, has been for a very long time, abusing his trust as a Dr to get some sick satisfaction fulfilled with the children he is seeing.
Do not bring your child here.

Great dr been with him for over 30 years he was my doctor and is now all three of my children’s doctor
