Dr Miller is a renowned expert for treating osteoporosis. For the past several decades he has conducted much of the basic research that shapes our current understanding & treatment of this difficult condition. He has been my doctor for many years & has always been kind, caring, & given me the best treatment. He has made a real difference in my life with his excellent management.

Doctor ordered a test that his office knows is not covered by some insurances. He ordered the collagen linking test and I must now pay $442. They should have told me that I might have to pay. If you must see this doctor, check your coverage b/c they don't let you know there might be a problem. Office was particularly unhelpful when discussing this with me.

Biography

Dr. Paul D. Miller, MD, FACP is an internationally recognized physician specializing in research on metabolic bone disease. He is widely considered a leading authority on bone biology and the prevention and treatment of metabolic bone disorders, including osteoporosis. Dr. Miller received his Medical Degree with Honors from The George Washington University School of Medicine in Washington, D.C. He then served his internship, residency and chief residency at the University of Rochester School of Medicine Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York. Following his residency in Internal medicine at the University of Rochester, Dr. Miller completed two years of clinical and research fellowships in nephrology at The University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Dr. Miller was then a partner at Western Nephrology; it was during his time here that he became interested in metabolic bone disease. This interest led Dr. Miller to open the Colorado Center for Bone Research in 1994 in Lakewood, Colorado. Dr. Miller is the Medical Director at the CCBR—which is acknowledged as a top facility for the diagnosis and treatment of metabolic bone disease. He is also a Distinguished Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Colorado, Health Sciences Center. Dr. Miller is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Nephrology (kidney diseases). Dr. Miller’s research focuses on the treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women and he is the principal investigator in a number of clinical trials evaluating the safety and efficacy of current and potential therapies. He is the author and co-author of over 300 publications and has also authored or coauthored over 50 textbooks and chapters. His insights and thought leadership have made him a media resource and sought-after speaker. He lectures widely at regional, national and international levels to physicians and at scientific conferences.
