Dr Sharp significantly impacted my life in a negative way. A family doctor is meant to act as a safeguard against issues regarding your overall health. The feeling of not being taken seriously, as well as suggesting treatment for things which I have already done in the alternative health care system before advancing me to a specialist referral, it's not doubt when I read the reviews on here is resonates with me. You want a doctor who is consistent, who listens, and who treat you with respect, even if you don't see things the same way. Maybe he's changed but I wouldn't spend time with this Doctor again.

It's 2023, and I've been seeing Dr. Sharp for more than a decade, I think, a long time for sure.
He now currently operates in DT Vancouver, at Aroga Lifestyle Medicine, and not in Burnaby.
A very experienced, and knowledgeable GP about medicine and most medical conditions, I found his advice was similar to what I received from specialists regarding my health issues.
Practices what he preaches, in a good way, his greatest strength is he advocates for accountability of personal health, especially regarding fitness, nutrition, and lifestyle choices, rather than relying on drugs/medication/surgery.
My only critique is that he advocates for whole-food, plant -based nutrition, which he does back up with data and persuasive sources, and for which I originally agreed with as well, but I have since found the evidence for such a narrative to be questionable, and am now skeptical of the plant-based claims by the sources referenced when they are put under scrutiny from (in my opinion) more competent and intellectually honest sources.
Going plant-based also observably didn't work for me and my condition, and it was actually by doing the opposite, which I was recommended to by a private Naturopath doctor, which actually helped me recover, and for which Dr. Sharp has accepted works for me.
All in all, an excellent doctor and GP, with a high level of integrity, energy, openness, and personal accountability towards the discipline and practice of medicine, and improving people's health so that they are less reliant on medicine overall.

As someone who does not go to the doctor often it is frustrating when there is an issue worth going in and waiting up to an hour for a scheduled appointment just to be ridiculed and minimized for your ailments to leave with a list of pharmaceuticals. After years of ignoring my complaints it comes out that I had broken bones and ended up with extensive hardware and life changing pain, which was also ignored and diminished. All with the justification that an appointment is time limited.... but why I am waiting for my scheduled appointment when I am pushed out the door in less than 10 min? So glad I made the choice to take control of my medical situation and found a doctor that is working to reverse the decade of damage and doesnt want to turn me into an addict!!

After a 50 ft fall on a job site Dr Steven Sharp said they couldn't possibly be any internal injuries...?
The guy's an absolute buffoon... Costing me my health my claim with WCB because of his stupidity... And misdiagnosis or lack thereof my intestines detached from the back side of my stomach wall... 20 years later I'm told I'm going to die... If a lawyer reads this and believes I have a claim or possible lawsuit which I believe I do, contact me I know I won't live to enjoy any kind of settlement but it will go to my kid.getpac7gmail.com

As others have said, Dr. Stephen Sharp is prone to misdiagnoses, not believing illnesses, and overprescribing. His personal biases are incredibly detrimental towards his patients’ health and treatment.

He is able to deal with common ailments, but anything out of the ordinary, especially things that go against his personal beliefs, he treats with a bias and pushes pills rather than coming up with a sensible treatment plan.

He's been my GP for over 10 years. Great doctor! Caring, thorough. As others say, promotes exercise, good diet, and healthy living. Good referrals to specialists. Good on keeping track of what is happening with specialists. I feel very fortunate to have him as my GP. Yeah, you might have to wait in reception sometimes--but that's almost certainly because he's spending the necessary time with patients.

Terrible doctor. Misdiagnosed me three times causing a delay in my treatment which in turn caused the worsening of my condition. He was insulting and rude and actually called me stupid for asking a question. The worst part however, was that he made sexually inappropriate comments which were very creepy and unsettling. This should never happen, not to mention the general incompetence he displayed in diagnosing and treating me. Find another doctor!!!

I actually switched BACK to Dr. Sharp as my GP. He is kind, scary smart, cares deeply about underlying and related issues, and isn't afraid to be flexible when necessary to serve a patient well. His staff, colleagues, and office are also great compared to most. Highly recommended.
