As a medical professional my opinion was that this is one of best internists I have had the pleasure of knowing. His time commitment per office visit is variable according to the problem being presented. An outstanding man, awesome professional, cuts to the chase, no nonsense, will listen to you if you are able to present problems that need care. As someone who has been there and done that, I will suggest this is a medical icon at Stanford.....

Dr.Ford is a salaried physician and absolutely not motivated by fees. He is billiant and extremely knowledgeable. That said, we also find him too speedy and sometines short. He also figured out the new appointment system in which you make appointments that morning. I can see a doctor that day, whenever I decide I need to, if I call at 8 a.m.

Appointment lasted less than couple of minutes. Very impersonal and does not care. I guess he is there just for big bucks. None of my concerns got addressed ! Not happy . May be not the right guy for me

Dr. Ford was easily the best doctor I ever had. He was interested, listened well, and was very effective in diagnosing my health issues. I moved so I was not able to see Dr. Ford any longer. I'm 48, I have another doctor now that I like very much, but I wish I could have continued under Dr. Ford's care.

I had a tear in some connective tissue of my foot (plantar fascia). At examination time, he was late (which is fine, people get busy).. but what bothered me was that he didn't even touch my foot. He diagnosed it as inflamation without even touching it. He set me up with an x-ray, and said that within a day I'd get the results... I never got said results (either in a call or email).. I went to see a physical therapist with what I thought was a prescription (it in fact wasn't anything other than a diagnosis). I'd say don't only avoid this doctor, but avoid the practice (Stanford Medical Group).

Stanford has really improved punctuality in last several years -- this was an issue in the past with all the clinic docs, not just Dr. Ford. After a series of less satisfactory docs, I have used Dr. Ford for years in both HMO and PPO contexts --have always found him knowledgeable and helpful. He also responds promptly suspect an ongoing relationship

Similarly, my basic checkup to Dr. Ford lasted less than 5 minutes. He was very impersonal and not interested in performing basic tasks. I asked him to perform a physical exam, including a rectal exam. He said I am too young for my 1st [i m 33] In the last, 5th, minute of my visit Dr. Ford assured me that my blood pressure was within norms. Except, he did not take one ... the test was taken by another Stanford doctor 2 years ago!

This guy only cares if you pay up front. I saw him privately (no insurance), he made me wait 3hrs and let at least 5 people jump queue. and for the wait, the only comment I got was "good for you". price for the privilege: $120. got better service from a chiropractic down the road.

Always punctual and professional. Good doc for sports injuries. Sometimes a bit quick, so prepare your questions ahead of time to make sure you don't forget anything before he goes to the next patient.
