I am well known to Advanced Pain Care, and I have been treated with medication and several blocks/nerve blocks before and after my spinal fusion surgery.I had three lumbar transforamenal epidural steroid injections before undergoing spinal fusion this past summer.I liked Advanced Pain Care, and I returned after my surgery for SI joint and femoral blocks, and I have another scheduled for my hip in two weeks. The staff is excellent with dealing with nervous patients(which would be me)and take they care to ensure that the patient is as comfortable as possible before, during, and after a procedure. They also make sure your questions are answered, however, the downside is that I see a PA most of the time. However, they are helpful and are able to explain medication options and how various procedures are performed. They have to be strict about refills;they have to obey federal and state laws in order to keep their license. They do their part by keeping high risk medications out of the wrong hands.

I have been to Advanced Pain Care for 3months and yes the front office staff is rude and yes they have messed up 2 out of 3 appts; I have severe RA,Fibro and asthma. I can now work 30 hrs a week and I am grateful to these guys...before going my body was literally shutting down.

I am quite surprsied to read the other comments - my experience with Dr. Malone and his staff has been quite good. I too have only seen Dr. Malone once, but ever since have been seen by a P.A. named Larry who is excellent/outstanding - he always listens to me and never rushes through an appointment. The office staff is wonderful - courteous and friendly every time I visit! I am now considering surgery as I am tired of taking the meds and they have been terrific explaining how to move forward. As for their "rigid" rules, I think they are only responding to the pressure they likely feel from the D.E.A. - they dispense narcotics and face it, this is an area where a smart Dr. has to be careful and follow the rules.

Insurance carrier not listed here. I've been to this office twice in the last month and it has been the worst experience with pain mgmt md's that I've ever had. I basically paid for a 5 minute visit the first time where I was asked a few questions and offered a prescription for pain medications. I told him I was not there for medication, but rather I was looking to find alternative treatments for L5/S1 Bulging disc w/ disk degen disease in the lower thoracic and throughout the lumbar region. I was sent off for a new MRI, because the one I brought with me apparantely wasn't good enough. When I returned to discuss the findings, I waited for almost two hours in the exam room before a PA walked in and told me that he was there to see me. Apparantely, the doc takes friday off. After 2 hrs I was furious and asked what the findings were (I had a copy of the report and researched). The PA proceeded to act like he knew what he was talking about only making a fool of himself. Never going back.

Staff defines apathetic. You WILL wait. There ONLY concern is keeping themselves out of hot water - it makes sense to prescribe the bare minimum of medication that takes care of the pain. What isn't right is to only prescribe the bare minimum when the bare minimum is just enough so that one can move around without crying out in pain. I saw "Dr." Malone on my initial visit - that's it; PAs from then on. My health insurance saves me a TON of money if I request prescriptions be written for 90 days (or 30 days w/ 3 refills) but Malone and Advanced Pain Care will NOT write prescriptions for more than 30 days and they REQUIRE with NO EXCEPTIONS that you schedule an appointment and come in to get a prescription for a refill (***and pay your copayment and God knows what they're charging your insurance for your 7 minute visit***). The short and long is this - they're not in the business they're in to help people or help alleviate their pain. Malone and Advanced Pain Care just want your $$$.
