This doctor saved my life. I started my admission with Dr. Milne, as my attending. My diagnosis are uncommon and my situation is complex. Dr. Milne was determined to help me, and I only wish I could have had her for all of what turned out to be, almost a 3 month hospital stay (with a 2 week admission in August). If it weren’t for Dr. Milne, I would likely be dead right now. I was about to be intubated for what was presumed to be convulsions with an unknown cause. Thanks to Dr. Milne, I was not intubated, and I was administered 2 doses of an anti-dote to save my life after I went into anticholinergic toxicity. Not only did Dr. Milne, realize what was wrong before it was too late, she also ensured my family knew as soon as possible what had happened. I will never forget waking up, not knowing
where I was or what was happening - bright lights painfully piercing through my vision, and so many unfamiliar faces around me. Dr. Milne, got down to my level, and was able to orient me and make me feel safe. She told me what had happened to me, and I could see in her eyes that she felt awful for something that was not her fault. She is a hero in my eyes, and went on to quite literally save my life a few more times after that. Dr. Milne is competent, empathetic, understanding, has excellent bed-side manner, and honestly everything you could hope for in a doctor. If you’re lucky enough to get Dr. Milne, as your doctor, you are in the best hands.
I cannot begin to tell you the complexity of my story in a single review. I was diagnosed with PTSD related to my hospital experience, and have ongoing night terrors, significant distrust of health care professionals, frequent and debilitating flash backs, amongst other things.
Dr. Milne is not the only doctor I have to thank for saving my life, but the good that she did - the level of care she provided - she is the reason I did not pursue legal action after the countless errors were made in my case (primarily by residents). I spoke with multiple lawyers, and the case is strong. I had so many people around me saying “how can you not sue?!” I am a nurse myself (who may never nurse again after this), and the number of people telling me to seek legal action was overwhelming to say the least.
KHSC should thank Dr. Milne, for avoiding a lawsuit.

Rick and I have seen Dr. Milne for a number of years including during the pandemic, in-person and by telephone. She is a wonderful person, exceptional doctor and goes the extra mile, not just looking at the one symptom but investigates the including the whole body. If your lucky enough to get her, don't let her go!!

There are no words that can describe the caring, supportive, understanding, empathetic, and most of all always finds time in her extremely busy day tending to all her patients in person and by phone. I have been very lucky to have Dr Milneevery step of the way through my cancer treatments to this day who has been a major in my after care treatments from the cancer. Without Dr Milne I wouldn't be here today. Thank you Dr Milne you are a life saver a true Dr who cares about her patients. Dr.Milne you deserve an outstanding award for your level of excellence in helping and treating your patients. As a patient I always feel better knowing I have the best care possible even with the pandemic in effect .I highly recommend Dr Milne if you ever need help...

Dr.Milne is the best doctor ever!
I was sick daily for over 2 yrs. Could never figure out why. The very little tests my family Dr did when I was actually able to get in and see her apparently always came back fine according to her.
After ending up in the hospital emerg and then admitted into the hospital for colitis, I met Dr.Milne.
I started seeing her as an inpatient and then on a regular basis after being discharged.
After 2 visits with her, she found more issues with me than my family dr ever did.
Issues my family doctor should have found but didnt. She pretty much saved my life. Love her to death. She is just an awesome doctor and I tell everyone to request her if they need an internist.
Like someone else commented, she's caring, compassionate, trustworthy, reliable,HONEST, punctual,responsible and so much more.!!!!

Dr Laura Milne is by far the BEST Dr in the world. Dr Milne is very patient, listens, emphasizes with the patient, understanding, caring, supportive, takes the time to listen to the patients concerns dispite her busy day. Dr Milne always responds to her messages and phone calls. I'd be totally lost if I didnt have Dr Milne helping me through my cancer and living with the aftermath as it's very very very challenging but Dr Milne does not give up she is always looking for new ways to treat her acute patients like myself. Without Dr Milne I wouldn't be here todayas she keeps me going as I dont want to die I am to young having said that I was the youngest male in Canada to have lived through esophageal cancer. Thank you so much Dr Milne for all you do in helping me. Dr Milne you are the best dr anyone could ever ask for. Thank you it means so much to me to know your there when the tough gets going and even when I land in hospital you still always find me and to re assure me that I will be ok and your team are amazing drs too.
