Bigoted towards people with mental health issues, why is this your job??

Made my hospital stay for anxiety much much worse. Said I was psychotic and delusional because of my eye avoidance and speech patterns. Tried to force me to take anti-psychotics. Refused to treat me for anxiety. Turns out the eye avoidance and speech patterns are because 1. I was terrified because I had been homeless, and 2. I'm autistic. I presented with classic freaked-out autistic person symptoms. To this day, despite letters from professionals showing that his diagnosis and "treatment" was incorrect, he refuses to remove his diagnosis from my health record. This interferes with my ability to get medical treatment as as soon as my health history is viewed by a medical specialist for whatever reason (pain clinic was the last), my reason for being there is ignored and I have to spend the whole appt telling the doctor that no, I DON'T see or hear things that aren't there, etc.
If you're autistic, avoid this guy.

Dr.Sassi is an amazing Doctor! He is great with our teenage son and clearly cares about his future. He is knowledgeable and empathetic, takes time to listen. Only great things to say about this doctor!

Very disappointed with the way I was treated by Dr. Sassi. Unprofessional and does not seem to care about patients nor does he include patients in treatment desicions. I have left every appointment feeling worse and hopeless.

Words cannot express my gratitude. Dr Sassi and Cindy at one point were my only life line.. I was a deeply troubled teen when I came to see them in the old psychiatric wing at st joes. I am now 25, fully functional and just got married. Dr sassi and his team are kind, considerate and devoted. You can really feel heard by them.

Dr Sassi is an amazing doctor. The time and attention that he spends with our son is remarkable. He is intelligent, empathetic, clear and great to deal with.
