I dislike leaving poor reviews. But in the case of medical care, I think it's important to offer insight. Dr. Master convinced me to have a surgery, and I I fully believe did not need this surgery. Why do I say this? Years ago my partner and I went to Dr. Master. He said she needed rotator cuff surgery. He warned of all the bad things that could happen if she did not have the surgery, We left that day with an appointment for surgery. After we left his office, we regathered our thoughts. We felt bamboozled. 10 years later, the shoulder is absolutely fine--and she had no surgery. I should have known better when Dr. Master convinced me I need hand surgery for a trigger finger that was very MILD and extremely intermittent. When I stopped doing a certain activity, it went away. But he convinced me that if I didn't have the surgery, various complications would occur. Post surgery, my finger is FAR MORE PAINFUL, and FAR LESS MOBILE. I've had months of PT. nothing has helped. And like others, I have not seen Dr. Master since the day he told me I'd need surgery. I BELIEVE THIS DOCTOR LIKES TO CUT. That's what surgeons do. He can't see beyond his own biases and desires. it's about him, not about the patient. The patient is just an object. I give him one star for knowledge, though I actually believe he is knowledgeable. It's just that his Medical IQ is high, and is Emotional and Empathy IQ are about as low as you can get and still be in health "care."

Would like to have seen my MRI and gone over it early on. Dr Masters was good at explaining where the ligament tears were/are and presence of a cyst.

Dr Master operated on both my L and R wrists and I most likely am looking at another R wrist surgery related to a fall at my place of employment. I find him to be very patient, knowledgeable and compassionate. I have every confidence in Dr Master and his PA, Chris. Above all, Dr Master knows what he’s talking about and is a healing physician.

Should you be looking for a hand surgeon, I would NOT RECOMMEND DR. MASTER. The consults were the only thing that went well. My entire post op care was an abomination. Here are the reasons why I would not recommend his practice. 1. NEVER SAW HIM on surgery day. 2. Didn’t receive the correct anesthesia for my surgery. DO YOUR RESEARCH AND ASK ABOUT WHAT KINDS OF ANESTHESIA ARE APPROPRIATE FOR SURGERY ON THE EXTREMITY. 3. NEVER saw Dr. Master post surgery. 4. My healing was DETERIORATING RAPIDLY yet his PA and PT therapists were oblivious, LACKED KNOWLEDGE and pushed me forward despite a SEVERE COMPLICATION. 5. I SELF DIAGNOSED the complication NOT his staff. 6. I received ZERO RESPONSE from him despite writing him personally. 7. LONG AFTER THE FACT, Dr. Master did contact me ONLY BECAUSE my treating specialist spoke to him of my severe complication. 8. IT IS CONCERNING that Dr. Master told me he knew nothing about my situation even though it was stated in his PA’s notes that this was discussed in full with him. 9. Almost NINE MONTHS LATER, I am left with a hand and wrist that don’t function properly, is atrophied, painful and will require further surgery. In my opinion, my complication may have been avoided with a more experienced and knowledgeable medical staff. Complications do happen and, when they do, the expectation would be that your surgeon will take charge, communicate and offer expertise. Not one of those expectations occurred with Dr. Master.

Do yourself a favor and see ANYONE other than Dr. Master. I was looking for a surgeon to fix my right thumb and was really impressed by how he took time to talk to me and answer all my questions during our first appointment. Then he operated and that was the last time I saw him, even though I had appointments with him specifically. They reschedule at the last minute and change things up, and his PAs don't have all the answers for you. I felt like my recovery was completely at the mercy of random whims that I could never understand because my questions were never answered. Months later I am still having significant problems, and the office is so disorganized and horrible at communication. I would give anything to go back and choose a different surgeon. I have left their office in tears multiple times and seriously advise anyone considering Dr. Master to RUN in the opposite direction.

He operated on a broken arm of mine - He is truly the best surgeon I have ever had. He is conscientious of patients needs and will spend more time than any other doctor will to help you with your situation

Great Doctor. Very personably & caring. Takes lots of time with each patient. May run behind schedule later in the day due to extended quality time with earlier patients. Well worth the wait, if it happens.
