Words don’t describe how lucky you would be to have Dr.Ouzounian. Legendary at performing the Ross Procedure and also repaired an aneurysm at the same time. Helped me and my family keep calm before and after my mothers surgery. In a time filled with so much uncertainty - I had mentally prepared myself for the worst but she could sense that I was anxious and told me to not worry and that everything would work out and thats exactly what happened.

Shout out to Victoria her assistant who was great with coordinating and facilitating the appointments.We feel extremely blessed to have had Dr Ouzounian perform her magic March 4th 2024. Thank you for saving my mothers life.

Dr. Ouzounian is a phenomenal surgeon. When I was informed by my cardiologist that I would need heart valve replacement surgery, I was understandably nervous. My fear was largely alleviated once I met with her. She was professional and confident and laid out her recommendation, as well as the risks and benefits of a 6-8 hour surgery. The days immediately following the surgery were difficult, but she made me feel like a VIP and visited me regularly. She was sympathetic to my pain, yet continued to project a calm and cool demeanor. I can't stress how comforting she was to both my wife and I while I was recovering in the hospital. She is clearly held in high regard by the staff there and I was told on multiple occasions by staff throughout the hospital that I was lucky to be in her good hands.

Upon being released from the hospital she encouraged me to message her directly if I had any questions. My wife probably sent her a dozen e-mails and she responded very quickly to every one. She clearly took a great deal of pride in her work and genuinely cared about me and how I recovered. I could barely walk 20 steps when I was released and I felt terribly, but I also felt very confident knowing that she was available to answer questions. I never would have expected to receive such fantastic care and I am forever grateful.

Dr Ouzounian lacked basic empathy when dealing with a 52 year old man who was terrified to die. While I’m sure she is a great surgeon to those who survive, perpetuating fear and guilting those who have an inherited disease into believing they’d done something wrong is a terrible way to achieve success. Sadly in our case, a life was lost at the hands of Dr Ouzounian and the last 7 months of that life were lived in absolute fear with little to no comfort and reassurance.

There is no other word to describe Dr. Ouzounian but an ANGEL! She has an awesome bedside manner and is EXCELLENT in all she does. She took great care of our brother and continues to do so even though we are back home in Newfoundland now.
