Dr. Devon did my thyroidectomy surgery for an abnormal nodule. She did an incredible job leaving me with little to no scars. I was able to go to work after a couple weeks. We are so blessed to have surgeons like her in Canada.

Dr. Karen did my parathyrodectomy on Feb 16th. I developed a rash due to sensitive skin later. I emailed her office and never expected her to call me on a Sunday morning on my phone offering to prescribe medication. She followed up with texts to see how i am doing. I was very touched by her concern . She is very professional and very good in explaining the steps. I consider very lucky yo have her as my surgeon and recommend her . Thank you Dr. Karen. My husband was involved in an accident and was seen by another physician who did not provide him with appropriate care. We were left feeling very worried and helpless and knew time was not on our side. We were fortunate enough to encounter the care of Dr. Devon. Dr. Devon was very quick to respond and made sure he received the right care in a timely manner. Her bedside manner was amazing. She explained everything and answered all of our questions. We feel so lucky and relieved to have her care. Highly recommend!

I saw Dr. Devon for a metastatic cancer of a lymph node, and concerns with the surrounding area in my neck and shoulder. My endocrinologist, Dr. Sujana Kumar, at WCH, had been tracking suspicious lymph node activity for a long while after my previous thyroid cancer history, and recommended her.
Dr. Devon read my file and listened to my concerns. Together we agreed on a plan, and moved forward in a very timely and professional manner. The surgery, performed at Toronto General Hospital, with the assistance of Dr. Lorne Rotstein, went very well, and there were no complications (the lymph node in question was in a deeper layer, and it required cutting into muscle near my shoulder - it might have been troublesome to remove. Many other lymph nodes were removed, pre-empting further possible problems with reoperation surgeries.
The areas of concern, despite being in three disparate places, were sorted out in one neat line starting past my initial central neck dissection scar, and following along that line above my clavicle, going on a gradual upward slope along a fold, up the left side of my neck. When Dr. Devon removed the tapes at our appointment four weeks ago, I could see that the scar will be very fine, even invisible. I’m grateful for the extra care in this part of the surgery.
Thank you, Dr. Devon!! How do I even begin to thank you for ridding me of this ‘small’ but troubling problem? You listened and you did a superb and safe job of my surgery, and I and my family with be forever grateful. Thank you, Dr. Rotstein, for your important part in assisting with my surgery, and your diligence in the pre-surgery investigations with Dr. Devon. That was a big file! I will always remember your kindness with gratitude. Finally, a very special thank you to Dr. Kumar, for your ongoing watchfulness and care, and for recommending Dr. Devon. A further thank you is in order to Krista, Dr. Devon’s medical secretary, and Dr. Devon’s and Dr. Kumar’s nursing and admin staff. You make it pleasant to visit WCH, and to feel like we were all a team.
To the wonderful theatre staff and nurses at WCH and TGH, a very, very special thank you for your kind and expert care. All these wonderful people help make our health system the very best in the word, and these hospitals the absolute best in the world.
