Dr. Newill is an outstanding physician. I am always happy to see her. I know she will diagnose and be able to treat whatever ails me. She has treated me for both complex diseases and for common viruses. With her background as a scientist (PhD) and as a US trained physician, she always discovers what is ailing me. I recommend Dr. Newill without hesitation.

She has treated me for a long time and has always been available to consult on short notice, whether for an asthma flare or a sinus infection. She always took great care of my health by giving me good advice on my condition and suggesting life style changes to improve my overall health.

I started seeing her 2 or 3 yrs ago when my previous doctor closed his office. At my first appt., I got a lecture on how insurance runs the health care industry. I just wanted a physical!! And her idea of a "boutique" practice is talking to you on the phone, which she refuses to do, or calling in a prescription. In all my years, I've never experienced anything like it. So far the best thing she's done for me is refer me to a great cardiologist and that happened by accident. I was experiencing pain in chest and back area. Over the next 5 or 6 months, i was put through multiple tests, some invasive. Finally she ordered an x-ray, which I asked for initially, and it showed that I had arthritis in my spine. The trouble is finding another female internist but after reading all these comments, I may renew my search.

Great doctor, cares about me as a person. Listens to my description of my concern. Explains her diagnosis and what she recommends I do. Obviously very intelligent, has PhD and MD from good schools, and has sense of humor. Her secretary reminded me about a test I had forgotten to do, and scheduled the followup about the results, which was very helpful to me personally.

I had the same experience. I finally gave up after 11 years with her. When I asked for copies of my records to go to my new doctor, it cost 78 cents per page. I must say, however, that I am very glad that I found a new doctor. I had forgotten that doctors can be friendly, helpful, and willing to listen about your symptoms from you.

I can't believe what I'm reading. I thought it was just me! My first clue about her is that I told her I'm taking Resveretrol and she's never heard of it! This stuff has been in the news for years! Dr. Oz even recommends it! She also sent me for an unnecessary test. Then she was very rude to me when I was asking questions, cut me off, said "are you going to do what I tell you or not?" Her recommendation that I eat a pound of raisins each week for anemia was bizarre. She wanted me to see a bunch of specialists before trying the most simplest and obvious solution first. Then when she found out I'm having financial issues she wanted me to pay for my visit right then even though her secretary told her my insurance doesn't work like that. I'm not going back to her if I can help it.

I have read the other comments and have to agree with them. I have gone to Dr. Newill for years and have gotten used to the treatment all of the comments have mentioned. I went for a physical this year and was limited in the number of questions I could ask her. She told me that the physical was not the time to ask questions about your health, and cut me off rather rudely. I think she is pretty unhappy practicing medicine although she does do a pretty good job when she is into it. She can almost always work you in if you have a sinus infection, etc. and need antibiotics. That is why I have stayed up to this point. I am looking for another primary care physician, however.

I've been going to Dr. Newill for years and while she does a great job diagnosing medical problems and fitting you in for appts in a reasonable amount of time, she is so deficient in almost every other areas. I read through some of the other reviews and the ones about her being unprofessional, blowing off questions/answering them vaguely and her receptionist being rude, all hit the nail on the head. I thought it was just me, but now I know that this is how she treats all/most of her patients. She also makes you come in for extra appts. for every little thing, whether it's that you have too many questions for one appt, you need a refill on a prescription or some other minor thing. And her receptionist makes you feel like you are bothering her everytime you talk to her. So in summary, I stayed in great health while I was seeing Dr. Newill, but the years of dealing with the annoyances/lack of caring have added up and I am switching primary care doctors as a result.

Helped me figure out a difficult diagnosis, and knew how to navigate health care system to get me treated as quickly as could. Will talk about why she is making the recommendations she is making, and what is being considered in those decisions. While she is not the warm and fuzziest of doctors, she has a M.D. and Ph.D., and clearly keeps up on latest medical research. She wants to treat the whole patient over time, monitering cholestrol levels and other issues. This may require more visits to the doctor, but this is the first doctor I've had that I felt was 'managing my care' rather than simply treating illnesses as they came up. It is true that she manages visits so that you may have to come back again if you are dealing with multiple issues. But I have not had to wait long, EVER, and I'd rather have that than excruciatingly long waits. I can ALWAYS get an appointment.

Was very disappointed in this doctor. Was unfriendly, impatient, and not very informed. Seemed very negative about specialists. Have been three times and will not return. Makes patient come to office for prescription renewals. Must pay for this visit when not necessary.
