Dina delivered both of my two children and provided pre- and postnatal care. She is experienced, honest, and confident. I never felt any pressure to take choices for my birth or care of my babies in any direction, but she was able to provide experience- or data-based recommendations easily when asked. I love the care at this practice and would recommend to anyone.

I just finished my second pregnancy with Beautiful Babies Midwifery and I can't recommend them enough. I love Dina's confidence in her manner. She always made me feel like she knew exactly what she was talking about with any questions I asked her. She put me at ease. She was confident in her words and actions and while i was in labor that was a welcome attitude! The front staff (Gina) is amazingly sweet and professional. If my family ever decides to expand again this midwifery team will be the first I call.

I would highly recommend Dina and the team at Beautiful Babies. They have delivered both of my children and our family had such a great experience. Dina is so down to earth, easy to talk to and always very supportive. She made sure I knew all of my options and I felt I could choose without any judgement. I found it really easy to connect with her on a personal level too, which made my visits a pleasant experience every time. The postpartum care was amazing as well. The team made sure my babies and I were doing well after delivery and supported us through challenges with breastfeeding. I love this personalized care we received and would highly recommend Beautiful Babies.

Dina really is amazing. I had numerous appointments with her throughout my pregnancy and she was with me during labour and delivery. Dina brings her experience, womanhood, and a sense of ease to the delivery process. I connected really well with her and would recommend her without hesitation. She gave me options and when I asked for her opinion she was honest and told me what she thought. I'm a pretty level headed person and more than capable to make my own decisions but I found her honestly extremely refreshing and supportive. Love Beautiful Babies Midwifery and Dina is amazing at what she does.

Dina is amazing. She was such a calming presence for us when I had to have a c-section. She was there and talked me through the procedure- I wasn't nervous or scared with her there helping me along. I was also told by previous doctors that I would never be able to breasted due to a surgery I had a few years back. Dina coached me and was so supportive, helpful and never gave up on me (as did the other midwives) that I actually ended up breast feeding.

I am so happy I chose Beautiful Babies. I will definitely go back to them if we decided to have another child and I would highly recommend all the midwives. They made the wonderful blessing of pregnancy and childbirth that much better.

Dina is amazing. She was instrumental in helping us with a difficult birth. She was such a calm and warm presence, she was our rock. I cannot thank Dina enough for how she helped us and gave us the decision making power we needed in the hospital. If I was to have a third child I would definitely go back to Beautiful Babies midwifery! Dina is an all around wonderful and amazing midwife! We highly recommend her.

I had an amazing experience with Beautiful Babies Midwifery. I loved Sina from the start and so happy she was there to deliver my baby. She was caring, knowledgable and confident. My labour and delivery was a very positive experience. This is baby 2 for me (first time was at a different midwifery and was not the best experience. I would highly recommend Beautiful Babies.

I loved Tamara and Tshengi, but I found Dina rude and condescending. So much so that, during my labour (which was rough and went on a LONG time), she actually said "you don't need to tell ME what labour feels like. I have had 5 children!" I was just trying to explain what I was feeling because she was my care giver! She was incredibly rude throughout my labour. To be honest, she was pretty rude the few times that I'd call after hours as well. ("I'm a midwife. I deliver babies. I don't have time to answer all of your questions. See a doctor.")

In my appointments with her during my pregnancy, she would cut me off and answer questions that I wasn't really asking, but she was okay. But...when I was in labour...man, oh man!

I am sorry to write this because I really did like Tamara and Tshengi. But, if someone had warned me about Dina in advance, I would have better off. So, I'm warning you.

I cannot say enough good things about Dina and the rest of the Beautiful Babies Team. They were knowledgeable, understanding and provided outstanding care prenatally, during labour and during the postpartum period. Dina was at my birth and was attentive, caring and made sure to keep me informed of my progress while I laboured, which I really appreciated! We can't wait to call Beautiful Babies again with baby #2!

Biography

'You are a midwife, assisting at someone else’s birth. Do good without show or fuss. Facilitate what is happening rather than what you think ought to be happening. If you must take the lead, lead so that the mother is helped, yet still free and in charge. When the baby is born, the mother will rightly say: “We did it ourselves!” ' ~Tao Te Ching I am thrilled be a part of Beautiful Babies Midwifery. My midwifery career is my second one—I was originally educated at Ryerson University in the field of journalism, and spent two decades working in publishing as a writer and editor. In 2003, I changed course and began my midwifery education with the Midwives College of Utah. My clinical training sites included a birth centre in El Paso, Texas; a midwifery practice in New Westminster, BC; a remote health centre in Fort Smith, NT; and a hospital-based midwifery practice in Thunder Bay, ON. I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Midwifery in 2010, and completed the International Midwifery Pre-registration Program (a Canadian bridging program that orients internationally trained midwives to Canadian practise) in 2012. It's been a long haul, but rather like a long labour, the results have been worth the effort. I love my work. I was born and raised in British Columbia, and have lived in the Tri-Cities area for most of my life. I am also a mother to five children ages 9 to 25, and I am blessed with a partner who supports my career in innumerable ways. When I am not at work, I am parenting, practising yoga, cycling, reading, knitting, and travelling.
