Dr. Horton is wonderful. He listened, asked great questions, and made me feel like someone finally understood the severity of my migraines. His medical advice has dramatically reduced my migraines and headaches and improved my quality of life.

Guess they have removed my last review.. do not see this specialist unless you want to feel worse after the app. He is either to busy or or he does not care.. I felt so deflated after waiting a year to see him.

Do not see this doctor. He will judge you before he even hears you... rude and he does not listen to you at all. I have seen him twice...

My whole experience with Dr. Horton was bad from the moment I met him. I’ve suffered from Chronic Migraines for the last 4-5 years. After explaining all my symptoms, he told me that “everyone gets headaches” which I found very rude and insincere. He proceeded to give me a medication to treat my migraines. After taking it for a week I noticed a had bad symptoms such as brain fog (I forgot who my own father was for a few minutes while having a conversation with him) and worse migraines. I do not blame Dr. Horton for these symptoms, however I do blame him for the unprofessionalism that happened after.

I called the doctors office to book a follow up appointment but the receptionist said she’d rather forward a message to him of my symptoms instead. I received a call back a few days later saying “Dr. Horton suggests that you should stop taking this medication”. I asked the receptionist when I could have an other appointment with him to find an alternative treatment and she said that he “can’t help me”. Never in my life have I felt less trust in the medical system until I heard those words. Luckily now I’ve gone to see a new Neurologist who is working with me to find a treatment plan that will work for me.

He seems nice at first, but clearly he has no compassion for his patients.

I found dr. Horton to be very cold and uncaring. He seemed extremely uninterested in my case. When I insisted that I had other issues with my seizures, blackouts and fainting his response was "you re epileptic, you've been epileptic for 20 years why the sudden urgency?" Thankfully one of my grand mal seizures took me to emergency and another neurologist was on call and saw from MRI (of my brain) that I had recently had which Dr. Horton had his secretary tell me the results were 'negative' over the phone. The on call neurologist found obvious scarring on my left hippocampus. I was sent to VGH stroke and epilepsy ward and diagnosed with Hippocampal sclerosis. No thanks to Dr. Horton. I don't recommend him at all.

I've had many neurologists in my life and he's by far the most pleasant and understanding. And the plus side being located in New West rather than downtown Vancouver

I recently saw Dr. Horton for severe headaches that have been happening for 6 months. He is a caring, and compassionate physician, his receptionist in North Van is also very nice. I would recommend him to anyone in a heart beat. He listened to all my concerns and recommended some vitamins as I expressed that I wasn't huge on taking more medications for the headaches. And he also ordered further testing to rule out possible causes.
