I knew this dr for 35 years and I thought he was great, until I got really sick. I went to him with horrible pain in my foot. He accused me of looking for pain meds and said I had a bit of arthritis. After months of complaining he finally did an ultrasound and sent me to a specialist. I told him I had a bad feeling about dr waren Latham, but he wouldn't send me to a different was operating on my ankle and the problem was my foot. B4 surgery I had to tell him he was doing the wrong surgery. He changed the surgery and operated on my foot. He did two botched surgeries. After the second surgery he said my foot fused and I had bit of nerve damage. Dr wheler refused to send me for a second opinion. I would cry in pain, dr wheler would write a script for pain med but even with me begging he still refused a second opinion. In early July I noticed a lump in my leg but I was in so much pain with my foot I ignored it. In August I went to a chitopatst
Who put two cortisone injections into my foot. This allowed me to finally be able to walk, and deal with other problems. In August I told him about the lump and he said it was nothing. October he sent me fir an ultrasound and it said I needed a biopsy. I didn't get a call and everytime I asked about the biopsy he sent in the referral. The end of nov I went to Nl gord a few months to try to get away from the stress. A week b4 xmas the lump grew and I got sick. I left messages asking dr wheler to phone the hospital because I needed the biopsy, he wouldn't phone me back. I phoned the hospital and they didn't receive the a referral. I went to the hospital in Nl and hot an MRI that diagnosed me with cancer. Feb 9 I phoned wheler again , finally he phoned me back and he was really ignorant and informed me my foot was healed and he could do nothing else for me. I informed him I was phoning about the lump and he again in a very ignorant tone told me nothing was wrong with my leg. I told him I had cancer. He basically called me a liar so I sent him a copy of MRI. He than sent paper work to mt Sinai saying emergency, ?knowing I was in Nl. I have since been diagnosed with stage four melanoma and it has spread to both lungs. I had a new Ct done on my foot and my foot never fused. I started immunotherapy and cannot get surgery. I also cannot get cortisone or take anything for inflammation. He is great if u have a cold but if u are really sick he is useless and rude. I have 3 grandchildren that I cant even play with because of my foot pain. He is a horrible human being and a horrible dr. U put your trust into dr in my case they didn't give me cancer but it probably wouldn't have spread to my lungs if he would have listened in Aug or at least sent the referral into the hospital in October. If he would have given me my second opinion with my foot, I would had that fixed and I would at least be able to play with my grandchildren. This dr robbed me of not only time he robbed me of a quality of life. I hate this useless ignorant, u wouldn't treat an animal the way he treated me

Amazing Dr and very caring and personable. I met him when he first started practicing. He has helped me through sickness, addiction and abuse. I cannot say enough about this mans character
