Dr Long is part of a large medical group. The policies, booking of an appointments, and seeing a patient are not consumer friendly. It is difficult to get to see a Dr.

I feel I am being generous with my rating. Dr was an hour late. Was unwilling to learn about my rare medical condition - instead passed me on to 2 separate specialists and said I can see him for "normal" problems. Office staff had very little concern for my privacy (weighed in front of others, medical condition talked about in front of others, etc). After not helping to treat my condition, he billed me for a "specialized" visit - almost $500. I left and never came back. I wouldn't bother with this case-overloaded office. There are better physicians out there.

Paul Long was my reason for avoiding a severe heart attack. As my primary physician, he insisted that I have a nuclear stress test annually, and in 2006 he noticed irregular symptoms. I was immediately sent for an MRI that showed four arteries that were blocked. With his influence I was seen the following day by a respected cardiologist in Savannah, and three days later was operated upon, having a quadruple bypass. His alertness and personal interest in me as a patient has allowed me to be alive and free of any further symptoms. He's always on call and even gives patients his cell-phone nmber in case of emergencies. He's five-star in my book!

This man is one of the finest physicians I've known. He's very caring toward his patients and gives each the necessary amount of time to allow him to make a proper diagnosis. This sometimes causes delays in his appointment schedule. I've known him to forgo his lunch and remain late in his office in order to see everyone on his appointment list as well as some who need to see him immediately. If a patient has an emergency, it is delt with as quickly as possible. The patient may be told to come to the office or have someone (an ambulance, if the Doctor feels it's necessary) take him/her to the E.R. For those unable to pay the difference between his bill and what Medicare or Insurance pays, he usually writes on the chart "Insurance Accepted." He's generous with his time and money in our community. He's a 10!
