never had a problem in the past until this year. from putting incorrect billing codes on my script (which can cause health insurance to deny coverage) to telling me my insurance doesnt cover radiology imaging (which it does), to telling me my breast MRI is negative (and failing to mention i need additional imaging for ultrasound which is on the same report), to then not even calling me to let me know that i need additional imaging because a mass was found on the ultrasound, to being rude when im asking questions about the results. dr gendler has always been amazing. im sad that im leaving her office as a patient. i cannot feel safe as a patient when the staff is rude, nasty and doesnt take responsibility for their errors.

The Dr was insensitive to my medical needs. She did a biopsy and made me feel like it wasn't a big deal . She said you have cancer, and didn't even have the tumor pathology report yet . The office never returned my calls. One late ,afternoon Dr Gendler called
screaming on the phone with bad news and was talking to other staff members while discussing my case with me. During the office visit she texted another Dr as if I wasn't even in the room. I never got a hug and I always felt like a statics in her book. As a health care professional myself I know kindness matters. Unfortunately, I had to find other sources outside of the Atlantic heath care which was very difficult . When your life is given a time line every day counts.

I can't say enough positive things about Dr Gendler and her staff. She performed my nipple/skin sparing bilateral mastectomy in October. My initial consultation was almost an hour long. She was extremely thorough and patient the entire time and provided me with every scenario possible. I initially had my mind set on a highly regarded surgeon from Sloan Kettering but couldn't choose her after comparing my two office experiences. My surgery went extremely well and I am grateful for having chosen such an amazing, caring surgeon (with a great sense of humor). Also Ann, the nurse from her office is fantastic. She is always patient with questions on the phone and despite how busy she is, always returned my calls. Ann even offered some advice for me regarding a friend who was not a patient.

From mammography, to ultrasound, biopsy and surgery, I knew I was in the right place when I found out my breast caner was back. The doctors, nursing staff, and support staff were so supportive. Dr. Gendler was extremely confident and answered all my questions making herself available to answer those I came up with outside of our office visit. Her office staff also reached out to me in every attempt to lower any anxiety I might have had. The Carol Simon Cancer Center was the right place for me to be. I also know that the follow up support care will help see me through my healing. Thank you to all.

I was recently diagnosed with BRCA1 triple negative breast cancer. These have been the most frightening and challenging few months for my family and I. Dr. Gendler made all of my fears, worries, and questions disappear. I brought friends and my husband to several appointments. She answered all of our questions in plain English. She drew diagrams, we laughed, she called me over the weekend to check in on me. She is the most caring, knowledgeable, personable doctor that I could have ever hoped for. She did a beautiful job on my surgery and ended every appointment with a hug. I travel over an hour to see her and I would travel longer if necessary. She's a wonderful woman, incredibly skilled surgeon and a compassionate person. The negative poster is not being truthful... Sorry!!

fter being diagnosed with breast cancer, I sought opinions and advice from Dr. Gendler as well as a top doctor at Sloan. Armed with many questions , fears and decisions, Dr. Gendler answered all questions at length, never did she make feel rushed. She calmed my fears and helped me make sense out of all the confusion that is cancer. She and her staff made time for me in their schedule when I had last minute concerns. At least twice Dr. Gendler called on her own to clarify/ explain reports and check in. She's a straight shooter-clear and passionate. Choosing a doctor for a major surgery with many components was not easy, but it was the best decision I made. You truly feel like you have a champion in your corner through the entire process that will fight for you, with you and cheer you on when you need it. I could not recommend her more!

1/22/2014 I went for my biopsy today. Great staff. Professional and courteous. Dr. Gendler is very nice, friendly and down to earth person and takes the time to fully explain procedures and medical conditions.
